It is always special when respected local firms back what we are trying to build in Downpatrick. Support like this helps us continue to deliver a proper community event as we celebrate our 10th anniversary.

The Paula McCreesh Kids Races are still open for online entry.

Friday 12th June 2026 is all about giving the young runners their moment, and we cannot wait to see the smiles at the start line.

Sponsored by Mabel’s Ice Cream Parlour, every child receives a medal an ice cream, and goodie bag, making it a proper celebration from start to finish.

Race 1
P2 and under, 300 metres, 6.05pm

Race 2
P3, P4, P5, 600 metres, 6.20pm

Race 3
P6 and P7, 1 lap, 7.20pm

Every entrant in our 5km main race will be treated to a FREE Ralph’s burger on race night, courtesy of Thomas and his brilliant team at Ralph’s.

It is a proper community effort and we are genuinely grateful for the support.

A big thank you to Michael and the entire team for coming on board and supporting this year’s event. It is always encouraging to see local businesses backing a race that is built around community and giving back.

Excitement is building with only a few weeks out from the 10th Anniversary of the Co Down 5k. Who will be crowned female and will Robbie Hagan make it 3 in a row. A wee birdy told me Robbie is away on a weeks warm weather training to be in tip top shape ☀️🕶️
A sprint finish the last 2 years and with a packed field this year we can only expect another fast race
