First opening its doors in 1931 as the Regent Super Cinema, our beloved venue has a rich and colourful history. After a brief chapter as a bingo hall, the Regent Charity was established in 1983 to preserve the heritage and spirit of this iconic building. Today, the Regent thrives as a non-profit, multi-purpose venue, welcoming over 100,000 visitors each year. We’re proud to be a welcoming, collaborative and creative organisation, offering a vibrant programme of film, live theatre, music, comedy and community events all year round. As we look ahead, our new five-year strategy sets out our commitment to expanding audiences, supporting our community, and investing in the future of the Regent.
