Kingfisher Farm Shop is famous for its home grown watercress. This family business has been growing this uniquely English product at Abinger Hammer since 1854. It is grown in natural spring water, which provides all the necessary nutrients without the aid of fertilisers or insecticides. The Farm Shop has become an increasingly important part of the business since the family started selling fruit a

nd vegetables in 1971 and the watercress shed at Abinger Hammer became the present shop in 1999. The shop provides high quality food for the discerning customer, sourcing as much regional and local food as available.

The inevitable question of what’s for dinner? FINE PIEHOUSE/bigbluebiltong quiches are a great solution whilst we enjoy the golden august evenings. There is a watercress, blue cloud cheese and asparagus. Another lovely local collaboration.

Dahlia Mania, here she is. The colour palette jostles with subtle soft hues, sitting cheek by jowl with a punch of orange, pink and brown. It’s a flower girl favourite at this time of year.

So much and so many may be struggling in the heat but look at this wonderful stone fruit grown by Myatts of Mockbeggar from Kent, supplied by the lovely folk SHRUB. Superb produce.
