Having an issue with fitting a pointed bodice to your circle skirt waist?
Soneone asked me about this….

Cutting a V-Shaped Waist into a Circle Skirt

Cut out your circle skirt as normal.

Find the centre front of the waist and fold the skirt exactly in half at this point. This means both sides of the V will be cut at the same time, keeping the V perfectly even.

Take the pointed centre-front shape of your basque/bodice and use this as your template. Place it against the folded waistline and mark the depth and angle of the point.

Cut away the triangular section from the waist while the skirt is still folded.

Open the skirt back out and you will have a symmetrical V-shaped dip at the centre front, matching the point of your basque.

Tip: It is always better to cut the V slightly smaller to begin with. You can take a little more fabric away if needed, but you can’t put it back!

Well, my holiday is nearly over! 😂

Obviously, whilst laid horizontally on a sunbed, I’ve had far too much time to think… which has resulted in lots of lovely new patterns being designed for the Sunday Collection. ❤️

When I get home it’s back to the grind and I have a VERY long list of jobs waiting for me 😳, so they probably won’t be coming out quite as fast and furious as they have this week! 😂

But I just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who has been following along, commenting and supporting me while I’ve been designing this collection. I’ve absolutely loved seeing your reactions to each new design.

And for anyone wondering why it’s called the Sunday Collection…

It’s named after my gorgeous baby granddaughter, Sunday. ❤️ She was the inspiration behind the very first design, and somehow one pattern has turned into a whole collection!

Now I suppose I’d better enjoy the last bit of this sunbed before reality calls… 😂☀️

This next pattern I’m bringing out has been asked for by one of my customers. As a costume maker I know that some patterns like this have the sweetheart too low and when I have taught people to make the pattern I normally use I have to cut the sweetheart higher and the neckline lower ( as it was far to choky)! For some sewers it can be a challenge. So I think it’s time a new one was brought out…. Meet Sunday Rhodes! She has plenty of potential, strappy backs, feathers,fringe you can really go to town with this one!
It’s not going to be ready for a month has it has to stand in line behind the others! Buts it’s coming and that’s they main thing ###

I’ve added this new image it has more bum/ butt) coverage . I think this is more suitable for dancers. Hope you agree.
