Last week, we had the honor of creating several tributes, but this horse racing tribute was the one that called for the most care, focus and time. It was more than a creative project—it was a way to reflect a life and a passion that meant so much to this gentleman’s family. It was a bespoke tribute to create, but incredibly meaningful for them. We were proud of the result, and even more touched that the family felt it truly captured their loved one’s character.
Red and white themed funeral flowers lovingly created to honour a true Liverpool FC supporter. The stunning arrangements by Maisie Bloem — including tributes for Dad, Grandad, and personalised initials — perfectly complemented the LFC motif on the coffin. Maisie Bloem was born in 2013, named after my niece Mairead who was the first born of the next generation and, at who’s birth I was honoured to be present. This was such an amazing event, and such a privilege, that I decided to name my business Maisie Bloem. This year (2018) Mairead turns 21!
There are lots of our family events that are marked within the shop, such as the star on the sign and the purple light we often have on as a mark of remembrance to my mum, who passed away from Pancreatic Cancer in 2011. She was savvy with her investments, therefore we decided to invest some of her legacy in our business and our building, and we think she would have been proud of what we decided to do, as the long term investment would prove more financially beneficial to the overall running costs of the business - the new kitchen could wait.........
I decided to share this part of our story because, a lot of our customers say lovely our shop is, and it has taken a lot of hard work, personal sacrifices and many of the decisions have been born from sentiment - but we are proud of what we have achieved and glad so many of you like what we have done - this means an awful lot, thank you.
