🎈 DAY 12 of 28 Days of Posting! 🎈

Oops… Day 12 nearly didn’t happen! 😅

I’m blaming the heatwave. It’s too hot to think, too hot to work, too hot to function… but apparently not too hot to panic when I realised I hadn’t done today’s post 🤣☀️

Today’s post is this awesome NEON themed birthday stack created for AJ! 💚💙🧡💛

The brief was bright, bold and neon… but with one very important rule:

🚫 STRICTLY NO NEON PINK! 🚫

So we went all in with neon blue, neon green, neon yellow and neon orange to create a stack that definitely couldn’t be missed!

The part I’m most proud of though? The ray guns! 🔫✨

I’d never made them before, so for this setup I taught myself how to create them from balloons. One thing about me is that if a customer asks for something and I don’t already know how to do it, I’ll usually disappear down a YouTube rabbit hole until I figure it out 🤣

I absolutely love learning new techniques and adding new skills to my balloon arsenal, especially when the end result turns out this cool!

🎈 DAY 11 of 28 Days of Posting! 🎈

Day 11! We’ve officially entered the stage of this challenge where I’m annoying myself with my own consistency 🤣

Today’s post is this gorgeous Mamma Mia themed sailboard setup created for a hen do! 💙🤍✨

The brief was “Happily Eva After” and honestly, I was obsessed from the moment I heard it! 🤣

Using pastel blue, silver and white, we created a setup inspired by those dreamy Greek island vibes that Mamma Mia does so well. Perfect for celebrating a bride-to-be and making sure there was a beautiful backdrop for all the photos (and probably a few renditions of Dancing Queen after a prosecco or two 🍾🤣).

I absolutely love creating sailboard displays because they can completely transform a space and really bring a theme together.

Congratulations, Eva! I hope you had the most amazing hen party surrounded by your favourite people 💙✨

Day 11! We’ve officially entered the stage of this challenge where I’m annoying myself with my own consistency 🤣

Double figures! TEN whole days of posting! If you’ve been following along since Day 1, thank you for enabling what might be my longest streak of remembering to do something ever 🤣

Today’s post is these stunning star-topped balloon columns, standing at over 7ft tall ⭐🎈

Every year I create these for the Pride of Armthorpe Awards, and every year I feel genuinely honoured when they come back and book with me again.

As a small business owner, repeat bookings never get old. The fact that organisations trust me year after year to be part of their special events means the world to me.

These columns might look simple, but at over 7ft tall they certainly make an impact when guests arrive and are perfect for awards evenings, presentations and corporate events.

I absolutely love creating children’s themed balloons. There’s something so special about seeing their favourite characters brought to life in balloon form and knowing how excited they’re going to be when they see them.

Gabby’s Dollhouse is such a fun theme to work with too. Bright colours, cute characters and plenty of opportunities to create something magical for a birthday celebration.

One of the best parts of this job is that no two days are ever the same. One week I’m matching prom suits, the next I’m surrounded by cats, sparkles and dollhouses 🤣

DAY 8 of 28 Days of Posting 🎈

Day 8 of 28! We’ve officially gone over a week and I’m still posting. Nobody is more surprised than me 🤣

Today’s post is another one from prom season, this time for Zac and Kian! 🖤✨

After yesterday’s post about the lads deserving balloons too, here’s further proof that prom balloons aren’t just for the girls!

These personalised prom balloons were created for Zac and Kian to match their suits and celebrate the end of an era. Because let’s be honest, they’ve survived years of school, hundreds of lessons they probably didn’t want to be in, and countless “this will be important when you’re older” speeches. That deserves a balloon 🤣

I absolutely love seeing more lads getting involved with prom balloons. The girls have been matching balloons to dresses for years, but a smart balloon to match a suit looks just as good in the photos!

Congratulations Zac and Kian! I hope you both had an amazing prom and made memories that will last a lifetime 🥳

☀️ HOT WEATHER + BALLOONS = A LITTLE PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT ☀️

As much as I love seeing the sun… balloons absolutely do not. 🤣🎈

With this mini heatwave hanging around, I thought I’d explain a few things you might notice when collecting your balloons.

🎈 “Jess, why doesn’t my foil balloon look as full as usual?”

Because unlike us, balloons don’t enjoy a good bake in the sunshine. Heat causes the air inside them to expand, so if I inflated them rock solid in this weather, there’s a good chance they’d decide to dramatically explode later on.

To help prevent this, I leave a little room for expansion. They may look slightly less plump than normal, but I promise it’s intentional!

🎈 “Why have my latex balloons gone a bit dull?”

Sadly, that’s just the heat doing its thing. Latex balloons naturally oxidise, which means they lose their shine and develop a matte finish over time. Warm weather speeds this process up massively.

🛠️ All displays are made at least 24 hours before collection. This gives me time to make sure everything is holding perfectly and that there are no faults before it leaves me.

Once your balloons leave Smarties HQ and head off on their adventures, I can’t be responsible for any popping, shrinking, oxidising, melting, overheating, exploding or other dramatic balloon behaviour caused by heat, travel or handling.

🌟 Balloon Survival Tips 🌟

✅ Get your air con on before collection
✅ Do your shopping and errands first, then collect your balloons last
✅ Take them straight home where possible
✅ Keep them away from direct sunlight and hot cars
✅ Avoid sheds, conservatories and garages that feel like the surface of the sun
✅ Try not to over-handle them

Thank you all for keeping me busy, even in this balloon-unfriendly weather! Every display is made with loads of care and attention… unfortunately I can’t control the British weather deciding to become Spain for a week. 🤣☀️

DAY 7 of 28 Days of Posting 🎈

Day 7 of 28! A whole week of posting every day! Who even am I? 🤣

Today’s post is all about prom season! 🖤✨

Most of the prom balloons I make are personalised bubble balloons designed to match the girls’ dresses, but this time we switched things up a little.

This black orb balloon was created to match a prom suit, because why should the girls get all the pretty balloons?! 🤣

I absolutely love when customers think outside the box and want something a little different. Prom is a huge milestone, whether you’re wearing a ball gown, a suit, or anything in between, and everyone deserves a balloon to celebrate the occasion!

I think the black orb gave a really smart, stylish look and was the perfect way to mark such a special day.

Good luck to everyone heading off to prom this year - have the most amazing time making memories! ✨
