What actually happens after you enquire with a wedding photographer? 💍

Hopefully, not a mountain of forms and definitely not a hard sell.

I’ve spent quite a lot of time behind the scenes making the whole Nimble wedding journey simpler — because planning a wedding already comes with enough admin.

You don’t need your entire day figured out before getting in touch. A date, a venue if you have one, and a rough idea of what you’re looking for is plenty.

From there, we have a relaxed chat, you can look through your options in your own time, and if you decide to go ahead, everything from your contract and payments to your questionnaire, Wedding Guide and eventually your gallery has a clear home.

Basically: less hunting through old emails, more getting excited about your wedding.

I’ve written a new Journal post explaining exactly what happens from the first hello right through to receiving your finished photographs or wedding film.

And yes — you are absolutely allowed to enquire when your current wedding plan is basically:

“We have a date and a venue… that’s about it.” 😂

Is it too early to start thinking about winter and Christmas weddings?

Probably.

Am I going to talk about candles, fairy lights, cosy venues, winter light and festive wedding details anyway? Absolutely.

Not sure what to say when enquiring?

You do not need to write a perfect message.

The most useful things to include are:

• your wedding date, if you have one
• your venue, or the area you are looking at
• whether you are interested in photography or videography
• anything important about the feel of your day
• any worries you have about being photographed or filmed

If you are not sure what you need yet, that is completely fine too. We can talk it through.

Why choose a wedding film?

I’ve written a Journal article about why film can feel so different from photographs, and why couples often value it more and more as time passes.

Photos are amazing, but film lets you hear the voices, relive the speeches, see the movement and feel the atmosphere again.

Photographs are brilliant at freezing a moment.

Film does something different.

It brings back the voices, movement, laughter, speeches, music and atmosphere around the day. It lets you hear people again, see how things moved and experience parts of the wedding you may have missed.
