What’s on cask and keg this Bank Holiday weekend?

Joining Bass on cask is a Dancing Duck double: the ever-popular Duck Down and DCUK.

New to The Old Bell, Thornbridge’s California Sun is a crisp, citrusy West Coast IPA. Think a lighter, more sessionable Jaipur.

On guest keg, Pentrich’s Ether Elemental is a bold 6% New England IPA and is sure to be a staff favourite!

The weather may be underwhelming, but the beer line-up certainly isn’t. Join us at The Old Bell for the final Bank Holiday of the year!

We’re incredibly proud to call Derby home.

From its remarkable history to its thriving contemporary culture, independent businesses and fantastic food and drink, Derby is a city with so much to celebrate.

That’s why we’re delighted to see The Standard shining a national spotlight on Derby - and we’re especially proud to see The Old Bell receive a mention. Naturally, Bar Manager Liam was particularly pleased that our real ales earned a shout-out too!

Another cracking guest beer line-up this week - perfect for Derby’s first league game of the season!

On cask, Bass is joined by Ashover’s Zoo, a punchy 5.5% American pale; Rat Brewery’s Cascade and Amarillo-hopped Mutant Rat; Thornbridge’s session IPA AM:PM; and local favourite Dancing Duck DCUK.

On guest keg, we’ve got two from New Invention: hazy New Zealand pale Pixel Paradox and the refreshingly tart, tropical Scoop, bursting with mango, apricot and passion fruit flavours.

The Lost Boys Return!

While it might be too early to mention the C word, at The Old Bell we cannot contain our excitement... for the return of the Lost Boys' Christmas Carol!

After a one year break, Scrooge is begrudgingly back and as miserable as ever, ready to settle in for another lonely Christmas.

Join us for the show's 10th anniversary, and expect an evening packed full of laughs, games and fantastic food, in the most atmospheric room in the city.
But make sure you stick to his rules, Scrooge doesn't take kindly to disobedience!

We’ve got another fantastic line-up of cask ales available over the weekend:

Bass (4.4%) - The legendary Burton classic.
Ossett – Trip Hop #8 (4.0%) – The latest in the Trip Hop series is a vibrant pale ale bursting with pineapple, white grape, gooseberry, passion fruit and guava.
Weekend Project - Afternoon in Chico (5.2%) - A crisp American pale ale packed with vibrant citrus and pine, followed by a refreshingly bitter finish.
Thornbridge - Ravenna (4.5%) - A juicy Mosaic pale ale with aromas of mango and kiwi and flavours of papaya and citrus.

On the keg lines, you’ll find all the usual favourites, with Beaufort by Atom Brewery remaining for another week.

Our keg guest line welcomes Thornbridge Pondera (6.7%). Brewed in collaboration with Californian brewery Firestone Walker, it’s a very drinkable West Coast IPA with refreshing bitterness and flavours of tropical fruit and pine.
