The sun was certainly shining on the new play area at Elvaston Lane Recreation Ground yesterday during the official opening! 😎

The Mayor of Derby, Councillor Jonathan Smale and Cabinet Member for Streetpride, Parks and Leisure, Ndukwe Onuoha officially opened the play area alongside children from Alvaston Infant and Nursery School and Alvaston Junior Academy.

If you haven’t already visited site, come and have a go. There is a range of equipment including swings, multi play units, trampoline, roundabout and somersault bars. There are also new 5 aside football goals on site. ⚽🥅

Keep your eyes peeled for a mixture of Highland and Short Horn cattle at Sinfin Moor Park Local Nature Reserve and Darley and Nutwood Local Nature Reserve.

If you are visiting then please remember to walk calmly, keep your dogs securely on a lead and please don't feed the cows.

🍄🍄 Amazing displays of fungi has been popping up all over parks this month 🍄🍄

Autumn is a great time to see mushrooms as the cooler temperatures and heavier rainfall create ideal conditions for the mycelium to produce the mushrooms you see above ground.
