A big thank you to everyone who joined us for our August Quiz Night on Friday evening! 🧠🍻

It was a great turnout and lovely to see the Pie Hall full of teams putting their general knowledge to the test.

🍻 BAR 1788 OPENING TIMES - W/C 31 AUGUST 2026 🍻

There’s quite a bit going on at The Pie Hall this week, so you’ve got plenty of excuses to pop in for a drink...

Bar 1788 will be open:

🍺 Thursday 3 September: 10am-2pm
🍺 Friday 4 September: 1pm-close
🍺 Saturday 5 September: 1pm-4pm
🍺 Sunday 6 September: 1pm-4pm

On Thursday, our regular Craft Circle will be getting together as usual from 11am-1pm, then Friday is a big one as we celebrate The Pie Hall’s 54th birthday with our Mini Pie Fest from 5pm 🎉

And on Sunday, we’ve got our Car Boot & Table Top Sale from 1pm-4pm, so you can have a rummage, find yourself a bargain and stop for a drink while you’re here.

As always, Bar 1788 is open to everyone. No membership needed, dogs and families are very welcome, and you’re welcome to order yourself a takeaway to eat here too.

We still don’t sell pies from the bar... but Friday may be the one occasion when we can’t say there aren’t any in the building 😏

Five days to go until we celebrate The Pie Hall turning 54 🎉

This Friday, 4 September, we’re holding our very first Mini Pie Fest from 5pm, complete with a community pie competition, raffle and the unveiling of our very own Pie Hall Ale 🍺

Fancy entering a pie? There’s still time to get baking. Homemade entries are very welcome, there’s a prize for the winning pie and everyone who enters will also get a free raffle entry. Register via the link in our bio or email [email protected].

If you’re bringing a competition pie, please remember that we’ll need a full written ingredients list with any allergens clearly identified.

And this is also a bit of a shout-out to our local food businesses… we need your pies! 🙌

We’d love some locally made pies for people to enjoy on the night, so if you’re a bakery, cafe, butcher, caterer, pub, restaurant or other registered food business and could donate a pie or two to help us celebrate, we’d be very grateful. Sweet, savoury, big, small… we’re not fussy!

If you can help, please leave a comment or drop us an email. We’ll of course give a big thank you to everyone who contributes.

And, if you’re neither baking nor donating, that’s absolutely fine too. Come down, have a drink, enjoy the evening and help us celebrate 54 years of The Pie Hall.

On Saturday 26 September, we’re welcoming Gypsy - The Soul of Fleetwood Mac - to Denby Dale Pie Hall for a night packed with songs from one of the most loved bands of all time.

This five-piece band have been playing sold-out shows around the UK, recreating the music of Fleetwood Mac with a real respect for the originals, from the huge hits to the songs that have kept fans coming back for decades.

If Fleetwood Mac feature heavily in your record collection, we suspect you’ll want this one in the diary.

Yoga classes take place at Denby Dale Pie Hall every Monday from 11am to 12.30pm, with a mix of natural movement, breathing techniques and relaxation.

The sessions are suitable for all abilities and are led by an experienced teacher, so you don’t need to have done yoga before to come along:

Something new is coming to the Pie Hall this autumn 🎭

We’re very pleased to be welcoming The Sing Space Musical Theatre Choir to Denby Dale, with a brand new Huddersfield group meeting here at the Pie Hall from September.

If you love musicals and fancy spending your Thursday evenings singing some of those big West End and modern musical theatre favourites, this could be right up your street.

There are no auditions and you don’t need to be an experienced singer. The choir is open to anyone aged 18+ who simply fancies giving it a go.

📣 LOCAL FOOD BUSINESSES… fancy helping us celebrate The Pie Hall’s 54th birthday?

On Friday 4 September we’re holding a Mini Pie Fest at The Pie Hall, with a community pie competition, a bit of birthday celebrating and the unveiling of our very own Pie Hall Ale 🥧🍺

Alongside the homemade competition entries, we’d love to have some pies from our brilliant local food businesses for people to enjoy on the night.

So, if you’re a local bakery, cafe, butcher, caterer, pub, restaurant or other registered food business and would be happy to donate a pie (or a few!), we’d love to hear from you.

We’ll make sure everyone knows who has helped keep the Pie Fest well supplied, with plenty of thanks and tags across our socials too.

And yes, sweet pies are very welcome too. We’re not going to start an argument about what technically constitutes a pie at this stage… 😆
