Registrars calling themselves celebrants and charging lots of money for a not very special ceremony is making me very cross 🤬

Just because your loved one has chosen a direct cremation doesn’t mean you can’t say a proper farewell. A gathering of family and friends, in a garden or somewhere that meant something to the deceased, is a lovely way to say goodbye. Whether it’s a few weeks, months or even years later… it can be helpful to have some closure 🤍

A sand ceremony is a lovely symbolic moment in a wedding. Different colours are layered on top of each other - in this instance by the couple, their children and grandchildren. It’s a meaningful way of including family in the wedding. ♥️💙💜💚🩷🩵💛

This photo says so much about my celebrant style. Laughter and joy is everything on such a BIG day and I just love bringing the smiles to a ceremony.

Thank you to the stunning bride and groom and for trusting me with your day 💗

This week is National Grief Awareness Week.
Grief is something I talk about a lot, although I know it’s not something that everyone is comfortable with. However grief will visit all of us, and when that happens, it never leaves.
This beautiful woman is my Mumma. Her name is Lorna, and next year it will be 20 years of not having her in the world. I miss her as much as I did back then, and I sob for her just as deeply.
Grief exists because of the depth of our love. It doesn’t disappear, it merely changes shape as we learn to live with it.
Today I hold space, as always, for those who are grieving. You are not alone, even though it can feel like the loneliest place.
♥️♥️♥️♥️

Thank you so much !!
What a wonderful honour 😊

Becoming a celebrant has been life changing for me and I am happy to shout it from the rooftops! It’s helped me in so many ways and is, without doubt, my vocation.

It’s Funeral Celebrant Day today and I thought I’d throw up a photo of me, post celebration of life ceremony, back in May this year.

Being a funeral celebrant is the most wonderful and rewarding job. Working with families who are navigating profound grief is an incredible privilege and I’ll never take that for granted. Over the last two years I’ve led a huge variety of different services - each tailored to fit each brilliant person we’re saying farewell to.

I don’t think people realise how free they can be in deciding what to do. Organising a funeral is surreal and difficult and so most tend to follow a pattern of what they think is right.

Celebrants can help guide. Not just with a running order or poem suggestions, but with venue options and alternative ways to say goodbye.

Just ask questions - none are too silly.
