A Wilde Celebrant

A Wilde Celebrant I am an Independent Celebrant based in Kent, but I'm very happy to travel. I love what I do and work hard to make your day unique, personalised and meaningful.

Whether it's your perfect wedding day or a glorious send off for a loved one.

You might have noticed one of these if you’ve been to a crematorium or cemetery recently… little letterboxes marked “Letters for Loved Ones.”
And I think they’re rather beautiful.
Just because someone is no longer here doesn’t mean the conversation has to end.
There are still things we want to say.
News we wish we could share.
Questions we wish we could ask.
Apologies.
Thank yous.
And “I miss yous.”

Writing a letter to someone who has died can be a surprisingly powerful thing. It gives us the opportunity to talk to them in our own way and to put into words things that could otherwise stay inside us.

Often we still have things that need to be said. The love will always remain and these little letterboxes give us a moment to continue the conversation.

This letterbox is at Barham Crematorium , near Canterbury. The letters are never opened or read, and they don’t leave the site. They are shredded and added to a special compost which is spread over the memorial gardens.

Due to inclement weather, we had to move the outside wedding, inside this afternoon. But, as always, Updown made everything feel seamless, creating a perfect day for E&J ♥️♥️

Yesterday I led the most glorious and meaningful wedding for M and A. They’ve been together for 15 years, with two wonderful children, and never planned to marry. But they changed their minds, and yesterday celebrated with family and close friends in their beautiful garden - it’s truly a magical place hiding away in Forest Hill.

Every wedding is different and that’s what I love most about my work as a celebrant. ♥️🤍

I was at Putney Vale Crematorium today to lead a service for someone far too young.
The last time I was there was over 20 years ago because it’s where my darling Mumma Lorna was cremated. So I wandered around the rose bushes where we scattered some of her remains to join her mother, my grandmother Hill. It was all very sad really - but as we all know, tears are healing. ❤️‍🩹

Happy first anniversary Amy Vince North ! ♥️♥️
