My last wedding fair of the season is on Sunday 18th October at the Old Bell Hurley – a beautiful venue in a small village just outside of Henley. Open from 11-3
So why come to a wedding fair ?
You can meet the people behind the brand name
Pick up the Photo album and look through the pages
Sample the cake
Have a go in the photo booth
Watch a magic trick
And so much more

Wedding fairs can inspire, take away the searching of endless lists of suppliers from google and you actually meet the suppliers

There’s no big sell and you don’t have to leave your details if you don’t want too
Have a wander round and pick up some leaflets and inspiration
It would be great to see you there

Friday’s Five top tips

For the Bride’s

1 Don’t forget to eat something in the morning even in your nervous. It could be a long time to the wedding breakfast

2 Mind your feet, if you’re not used to wearing heels, don’t feel you have too on the day. You‘ll spend a lot of time on your feet so why not invest in some personalised trainers

3. If you have a button up dress with lots of smaller buttons – invest on a crochet hock. It makes it so much easier especially if your bridesmaids have manicured nails

4. Get your dress, jewellery, shoes etc out when you start getting ready so you know where everything is and your photographer can easily photograph it all for you without disturbing you

5. I’ve heard this a lot, if you’ve got a long train on your dress, it can be easier to use the toilet facing it, less dress to get out of the way!

Hiding the Sausage!

Have you ever heard the phrase?

My eyebrows raised slightly when I heard the groom’s men using the phrase at a recent wedding we photographed but they quickly explained that it is a tradition of burying a sausage in the ground a few days before the wedding to ensure good weather
Then at a recent wedding fair I overheard a supplier mention the same phrase to a couple with similar reactions to mine
Is this a new tradition I’ve only just heard of or have you known about it for years..
Are there any other phrases or traditions that make you laugh – I’d love to know, feel free to tell me in the comments

We were at Ufton Court weddings recently to photograph the wonderful wedding of Alice and Jack

The weather was against us to start with but what a beautiful day it turned into and we managed to get everyone outside to take photos in the stunning grounds of the barn and Manor House
A new idea, that I’ve not seen before – raffle tickets for everyone on the tables with a raffle in between courses which provided lots of fun and laughter

The food was amazing, a BBQ with a twist and a big shout out to the wedding coordinator who worked hard all day to make sure everything happened when it should and such a help to use- I hope you enjoy the teaser photos

After a successful wedding fair at the Complete Angler, we're back this Sunday 27th September at The Coppid Beech Hotel - The Fair opens from 11-3 and is open to everyone planning a wedding, wherever you are in the process, also there is a fashion show at 1pm - looking forward to seeing you there

What a fabulous weekday wedding we had a few weeks ago, our couple booked me for a few hours at their beautiful church set on a hilltop overlooking the countryside.
We started with family group photos of the guests as they arrived followed by the Church service – these don’t happen as often as they used too but I forget how much I enjoy them
Afterwards followed group photos on the lawn and then shots of the couple around the church grounds to include the release of butterfly’s
It was such a well organised day with lots of fun for the kids and family

We recently went to visit a new wedding venue we are working at in August.

The beautiful Chicheley Hall near Newport Pagnell, wow what a venue

Driving up the tree lined drive you can glimpse the Manor and then it the road opens up to reveal all and what a beautiful building it is, it has its own Church in the extensive grounds and various outbuildings. The inside is just as beautiful and apparently boasts a witch’s staircase, built to stop witches entering the building - you learn something new every day
We really are very lucky to be able to work in some great venues and we’re really looking forward to going again in August

While we’re busy photographing weddings, we’re also preparing to meet new couples by booking in three new wedding fairs
These are all run by the fabulous Jackie and Joanne at Berkshire wedding fairs, are free to enter and are great ways to meet lots of friendly suppliers

What a great day of fun and laughter at Jackie and Marc’s wedding, it started with a trip down memory lane as they got ready just 50 yrds from my childhood home and school Then off to the beautiful Sefton Barn in Speen, a rest home for horses, a wonderful old barn with amazing beams and loads of light for the photos. The groups and couple shots were taken with the rolling hills of the Chilterns in the background plus a few horses
Then back to Tylers Green to the Old Queen’s head – another old haunt of mine. The garden was perfect for lots of candid shots of the guests enjoying themselves and the pub itself was decorated with fairy lights to create a romantic atmosphere for the wedding breakfast and speeches
It was great to meet such friendly guests who made us feel part of wedding party
