The final chapter of the Red Wellie Boot Saga took place todayโฆ and what a saga itโs been! ๐
This has genuinely been one of the most stressful orders of the year. It might look like a simple design from the outside, but my goodness, it tested me at every stage! Still, I do love a challenge, and giving up has never really been my style. ๐
First came the wellies themselves. The original order of 4 disappeared into thin air, so we had to wait for replacements to arrive.
Then, by the time they finally turned up, the specific plants chosen by the customer were proving almost impossible to source in a size small enough to fit the boots. Cue plenty of research and a couple of road trips before I eventually tracked them down. There were moments when I genuinely thought it wasnโt going to happen!
Once we had everything, the next challenge was figuring out how to put it all together. How do you attach little umbrellas to ceramic wellies with no floral foam to secure them? The answer: glueโฆ lots and lots of glue! ๐ With the plants being quite tall, the umbrellas had to sit at just the right angle too.
And finally came todayโs challengeโฆ transporting them without disaster striking! Two to a crate, plenty of padding, and driving like Miss Daisy got them safely to their new home.
The best part? A delighted customer at the end of it all, which makes every stressful moment worthwhile. Now Iโm just hoping those umbrellas stay exactly where I glued them and donโt decide to take off in the first gust of wind! โ๐
