Darlington, 1893.

That’s where the story of The King’s Head begins.

For 133 years, this building has stood in the heart of Darlington, welcoming generations through its doors and becoming part of countless weddings, Christmas parties, nights out, celebrations and everyday moments along the way.

A lot has changed since that first photograph was taken. Today, you know us as Mercure Darlington Kings Hotel, but for many in the town, we’ll always be The King’s Head.

We’d love to hear your memories. Did you celebrate here, work here, stay here or have a story about The King’s Head passed down through your family?

Share your stories, memories and old photos with us in the comments. We’d love to see them.
