Your guests will remember what they want to remember.

I keep seeing the advice that “your guests won’t remember the napkins, but they’ll remember how happy you looked.”

And yes, they might.

But you know what?

You have absolutely no idea what your guests are going to remember.

At my own wedding, my guests still talk about the beers we put on the bus for the transfer.

The beers.

Not the flowers.
Not the table decorations.
Not whatever other detail I probably spent far too much time worrying about.

The bloody beers. 😂

And that’s exactly the point.

You cannot plan your wedding around what you think your guests will remember.

They'll remember the things that mattered to them.

So stop trying to second-guess Auntie Jeanie, your cousins, your colleagues or your guests.

Listen to your own voice.

If you love it — get it.

If you hate it — dump it.

If you want the pale pink napkin with the sage green ribbon and gold cutlery, even though you're probably the only person who notices?

Have the bloomin' napkins.

Because it's your bloody wedding. ❤️

I had a great evening at Barrowland Ballroom with the Scottish Wedding Unconvention last night. Was wonderful chatting to so many couples and share my designs and thought processes.

See you at the tonight from 6pm for the Uncon.

All set up and ready to share my flowers with lots of new faces.

What to expect from my stall at Thursday’s Barrowland wedding fayre… 🎶🌸

Well… I’ve had SO much fun planning and designing my space for this iconic venue — and I may have gone a little wild with the whole music-related venue vibe! 😂

Will you be ordering this exact backdrop for your ceremony? Probably not.

And that’s kind of the point.

I wanted to use my space to show you what’s possible when you mix a bit of imagination, a healthy dose of extreme problem-solving and flowers with a very personal idea.

Because when I’m designing wedding flowers, I’m not looking to recreate someone else’s wedding. I want to work out how we can make your ideas work for you.

When you’re designing a wedding fayre display, it’s impossible to have something for everyone. I can’t fit every style, colour palette, flower or type of wedding into one little space.

So instead, I’m creating something that catches your eye, makes you smile and, hopefully, gets you thinking…

“I wonder what Susan could do with our wedding?”

And that’s exactly what I want you to come and chat to me about.

Come and say hi — even if you have absolutely no idea what you want your wedding flowers to look like yet. Those are often my favourite conversations. 💕

PART 2

19 years married today. ❤️

Looking back at our wedding and asking myself what I’d do differently now, it turns out there really isn’t much.

We kept things pretty laid-back and weren’t overly set on everything being a certain way. We made choices that felt right for us, enjoyed the day and, 19 years later, can look back without many regrets.

I was already a florist then and did all my own flowers, although my style has definitely changed over the last 19 years! 😂🌸

And there is one thing I would 100% change…

THE SHOES. 👠😂

Swipe through to find out what else I’d change — and what I absolutely wouldn’t.

Happy anniversary to us. 🥂❤️

Why can’t a wedding flower brochure tell the whole story? 🌿

I’ve just spent two weeks agonising over my new brochure — the photos, the advice, the pricing… and then realised something:

A brochure can only ever give you a starting point.

Your flowers, your budget, your style and the little details that make your wedding yours all need a conversation.

So if you’ve ever looked at a florist’s prices and thought “that’s more than I can afford” — don’t write them off just yet. There may be different ways to create the look you love.

I’ve written a little more about why wedding brochures can’t tell the whole story — and why sometimes, having a conversation is much more useful than simply relying on a price list.
