And that’s it for FSDW 2026!

We’re back in the office after a fantastic few days and want to say a huge thank you to everyone who joined us for this year’s conference.

To our sponsors and exhibitors, thank you for your support and for helping us make the event possible.

To our speakers, thank you for sharing your knowledge and expertise.

And most importantly, thank you to every delegate who attended, asked questions, and contributed to the discussions. FSDW is ultimately about giving those involved in fire service estates an opportunity to learn from one another, compare approaches, and discover new ways to improve the environments supporting fire and rescue teams. We hope you left with plenty of new ideas and connections.

We can’t wait to see you all again for FSDW 2027!

In the meantime, keep an eye out for more photos and highlights from this year.

✅ And that’s a wrap on Day 1 of FSDW 2026.

This afternoon, we were proud to facilitate a National Fire Estates Group (NFEG) meeting, bringing together fire service personnel from across the UK to discuss topics including infrastructure guidance, asset management, condition standards, and overcoming EDI challenges.

We then rounded off Day 1 with an informal networking evening, giving everyone the chance to catch up and get to know each other ahead of the main conference.

A great start to FSDW 2026, and we’re looking forward to seeing what tomorrow brings.

See you in the morning!

How do you turn a 1960s fire station into one of the most sustainable facilities in a service’s estate?

In a recent article published on Fire Estates Manager, Ryan Forman, Property Service & Maintenance Manager at Cambridgeshire Fire & Rescue Service, shared the story behind the refurbishment of St Neots Fire Station, now the service’s most sustainable station.

Originally built in the 1960s, the station had remained largely unchanged for more than 50 years. The refurbishment gave the service an opportunity to modernise the building, improve working conditions, strengthen contaminant control, and reduce long-term environmental impact.

The article covers the practical steps taken to improve sustainability including utilising an air-source heat pump, LED lighting, EV charging, improved insulation, and a new high-performance overlay roof with solar PV panels.
