🌟 Volunteers' Week Spotlight: David 🌟

As part of Volunteers' Week, we're shining a spotlight on some of the wonderful people who give their time, skills and enthusiasm to support Cranleigh Arts. While we can't feature every volunteer individually, we are incredibly grateful to each and every one of them for everything they do.

Today, we're celebrating David!

David has been volunteering with Cranleigh Arts for approximately 12 years and is a regular Duty Manager. Alongside this role, David helps to develop and maintain our beautiful gardens, which are looking absolutely stunning at the moment.

Working with his wife, RenΓ©e, David helps ensure that the outside spacess are welcoming and attractive for everyone who visits. As well as taking pride in the gardens themselves, David and RenΓ©e enjoy the interaction with members of the public and being part of the community that makes Cranleigh Arts so special.

The beautiful surroundings that so many of our visitors enjoy are a testament to the care, dedication and hard work that David and RenΓ©e put in throughout the year. We are incredibly grateful for everything they do.

Thank you, David, for all your support over the past 12 years! πŸ’™

🌟 Volunteers' Week Spotlight: Lena 🌟

As part of Volunteers' Week, we're celebrating some of the wonderful people who give their time and talents to support Cranleigh Arts. While we can't feature every volunteer individually, we are incredibly grateful to all of them for everything they do.

Today, we're celebrating Lena!

Lena started volunteering with Cranleigh Arts in 2021, soon after moving to Cranleigh. Many of you will know her from the Box Office or as a steward, but behind the scenes she provides exceptional support to our Artistic Director and Operations Director, preparing performance and room hire agreements and helping to keep everything running smoothly.

When she's not volunteering, Lena enjoys travelling, watching musicals and spending time with friends.

We are incredibly grateful for Lena's dedication, professionalism and willingness to help. She is a much-valued member of the Cranleigh Arts team.

Thank you, Lena, for everything you do! πŸ’™

🌟 Volunteers' Week Spotlight: Mark 🌟

As part of Volunteers' Week, we're shining a spotlight on some of the wonderful people who give their time, skills and enthusiasm to support Cranleigh Arts. While we can't feature every volunteer individually, we are incredibly grateful to each and every one of them for everything they do.

Today, we're celebrating Mark!

Mark first started volunteering in 2019, helping with bar shifts. Since then, his role has grown considerably, and while he still helps behind the bar from time to time, much of his volunteering now involves room set-ups, stage building and a whole host of behind-the-scenes jobs that help keep the Centre looking its best.

What started with someone asking him to change a light bulb has evolved into Mark becoming one of our go-to volunteers for maintenance, repairs, improvements, painting and decorating.

After a career in local government, community service comes naturally to Mark, and volunteering at Cranleigh Arts has been the perfect transition into retirement.

Mark's dedication, practical skills and willingness to help wherever needed make a huge difference to Cranleigh Arts, and we're incredibly lucky to have him on the team.

Thank you, Mark, for everything you do! πŸ’™

🌟 Volunteers' Week Spotlight: Marilyn 🌟

As part of Volunteers' Week, we're shining a spotlight on some of the wonderful people who give their time, skills and enthusiasm to support Cranleigh Arts. While we can't feature every volunteer individually, we are incredibly grateful to each and every one of them for everything they do.

Today, we're celebrating Marilyn!

Marilyn has been a dedicated volunteer at Cranleigh Arts for an incredible 11 years and has become an essential part of our team. While many of our visitors will recognise her friendly face as a steward, her main role is looking after our Gallery and Handmade shop, helping to showcase the wonderful artistic talent in our community. Marilyn works tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure its success.

When she's not arranging fantastic exhibitions and supporting local artists, Marilyn is a talented painter herself. Marilyn's dedication to the arts, her support for local creatives and her countless hours of volunteering make a huge difference to Cranleigh Arts. We are incredibly lucky to have her as part of our volunteer family.

Thank you, Marilyn, for everything you do! πŸ’™

Although Mark has been involved with Cranleigh Arts for close to 15 years, he officially joined our volunteer tech team in January 2026. Since then, he has embraced the challenge of learning the ropes behind the scenes, getting to grips with our lighting and sound desks.

When he's not volunteering at Cranleigh Arts, Mark keeps himself busy supporting other great causes. He volunteers at the Oxfam Book Shop, is actively involved with the Cranleigh Repair CafΓ©, and supports organisations that help people overcome addiction and rebuild their lives.

Mark's enthusiasm for helping others and giving back to the community is truly inspiring, and we're delighted to have him as part of the Cranleigh Arts volunteer team.

Thank you, Mark, for everything you do! πŸ’™
