💙 A SPECIAL DAY AT CRANLEIGH ARTS💗

Last week, while our doors were closed to the public, we were delighted to welcome the HALOW Project to Cranleigh Arts for a very special day of creativity, movement and fun.

HALOW supports young adults with learning disabilities and autism across Surrey, helping people develop new skills, become more independent and live a life of purpose.

During their day with us, our wonderful group of attendees enjoyed three different taster sessions:

🧘 Movement with Jess
🧶 Felting with Becky
🏺 Pottery with David

It was such a pleasure to have such a wonderful bunch of people in the building and to see everyone getting involved, trying something new and enjoying being creative.

A huge thank you to the St. James’s Place Charitable Foundation, whose generous funding made this very special day possible. 💙

We loved working with the HALOW Project and hope this is the beginning of many more creative days together in the future!

THINK TANGO ISN’T FOR YOU? THINK AGAIN… 💃

You don't need to be an experienced dancer.
You don't need to know all the steps.
And you don't even need to bring a partner.

Come along, have some fun and learn the basics of this wonderfully dramatic dance with Flavio & Emma.

Tango Class | 4 September

Whether you're a complete beginner or already love to tango, you're welcome.

📸 OUR VIEW – NEW EXHIBITION

Yesterday we reopened our doors after a little break – and we’re delighted to welcome you back with a brand-new exhibition in our gallery.

Our View features a collection of photographs by five members of the Cranleigh Camera Club, showcasing their unique perspectives on the places and people around us.

The exhibition also includes fascinating images documenting the progress of the work at the Napper Centre, offering a glimpse at how the project has developed.

📅 On display until 12 September

So, next time you’re passing, pop in and take a look – the gallery is free to visit and there’s plenty to see!

🎭 YOU SAW IT HERE FIRST! 🏆

If you were at Cranleigh Arts when Spencer Jones brought his warm-up for this year’s Edinburgh Fringe to our stage, you might have been watching a potential award-winning show!

Spencer’s Edinburgh show Dogs has now been shortlisted for the prestigious Edinburgh Comedy Award for Best Comedy Show – and it’s already been described as “brilliant” by Beyond The Joke. 🐶👏

We love knowing that audiences in Cranleigh got an early look at the show before it headed to Edinburgh – and now we’ll be keeping everything crossed for Spencer! 🤞

Could we have an award winner on our hands? We certainly think so!

A little trip down memory lane.

While we’ve been having a bit of a clear-out during our August closure, we stumbled across something rather lovely, our archive of old Cranleigh Arts brochures!

Looking through them got us thinking… what’s the best thing you’ve ever seen at Cranleigh Arts?

Whether you’ve been coming to us for years or you’re relatively new, we’d love to know what has stood out for you. Maybe it was something you saw last month, or something you remember from years ago.

Tell us in the comments! 👇 Your favourites might even give us some inspiration for what we should bring back… or what we should programme more of!

🌿 Our garden heroes! 🌿

A huge thank you to our wonderful volunteers David and Renée, who keep the garden at Cranleigh Arts looking so beautiful. 💚

David and Renée actually designed the garden when we revamped the front of the building, and we think you’ll agree they did an amazing job! They continue to care for it throughout the year, making sure it always looks its best for everyone who visits.

We’re so lucky to have them — thank you both! 🌱🌸
