3 more costumes finished.
We fitted the red costume in for a song and dance routine.
We have a little Belle costume and Rapunzel so far, Aurora to make up tomorrow.
These are for a trio lyrical dance ages 5+
How cute are they going to be. 🥰

More costumes finished and off to their young owners.
A disco style modern 2 piece costume with flared sleeves, a cut out to the front, gems and bow to match.
Then we have a red and black Spanish themed acro costume in red lycra and lace. Applique's to the front and side, 1 sleeve, strap to the opposite side. This costume has a lot of gems in red and red ab all over it.
We have a lot to complete yet by the end of the month 😳

We have spent quite a bit of time on this costume !
We have a black leotard base. The stretch leatherette for the top was cut and built over each other to create the patchwork layers. We tried several techniques to distress the fabric but ended up using acrylic paint.
We then used buckles in varying styles sizes and colours for the straps along with eyelets.
The bottoms started as leggings which again are overlaid with painted leatherette and straps.
Pleased with how this one turned out. 😊

WE ARE FULLY BOOKED FOR COSTUMES UNTIL JUNE

We have some costumes yet to design and some which are going to require a lot of thought and building on the mannequins.
We have solo costumes, duets, character costumes to create this month.

We are already booking for November festivals and expect to be busy from August into September and October so PLEASE book your slot as soon as you require a bespoke costume.

We have been a bit quiet lately on here but we have been busy behind the scenes.
14 individual stranger things catsuits have been made for a show next week, its been a bit of a mammoth task finding stretch fabric to match the era it is set in 😳
This little costume is so nearly finished just a little extra sewing monday morning. Quite pleased with how it is turning out. Any guesses as to what it could be ?
We had to think outside of the box again to create the effect needed but for it to still be able to stretch with the lycra.

Why we charge what we do for our costumes.

Sourcing and buying fabrics including lining.
Designing the costume which will evolve all through the process.
Making up and cutting the patterns.
Stocking over 280 thread cones just for the overlocker.
Matching thread for the top sewing.
Elastics, clips, applique's, gems of which we have a lot of each colour and sizes.
Mannequins of which we have 2 of each size, 1 which is adjustable so we can get the perfect fit and 1 we use for sewing on of the applique's and glueing the gems.
Hours spent hand sewing the applique's this little costume took 5 hours sometimes they take a lot longer!
Hand placing each gem of which we usually use several colours and sizes and of course we need the right glue to do this and this can also take many hours and sometimes even days.
Knowing how to sew stretch fabrics even down to the specialist needles.

Above all Experience Knowledge and Design to create a vision.

Of course if anyone wants to make their own costumes please do but we do work hard on our costumes and our prices reflect this.

This costume was for summer who came in and picked it up yesterday, fitted beautifully. A gentle drape front and back almost grecian in style cinched with a lot of hand placed and sewn appliques which took hours ( sore fingers 😩) this is for roller skating competitions which has a lot of rules, no cut outs, no flesh on show, no gems stuck on all gems have to be a certain size and sewn on, applique's are allowed if the beads and sequins are sewn onto the backing. So plainer bases but the draping sets this one off beautifully.
