Coventry was once famous for its cloth and wool trade, and St Mary’s Guildhall played a key role in this rich history.

Join us 11.00am–3.00pm on the 17th January to discover how people dressed in Tudor times and how their clothing was made. Watch wool being spun on a traditional spinning wheel, learn Tudor sewing techniques, and see examples of clothing and headwear worn by different social classes.

Step back to the year 1482 and join us in the Great Hall at Greystone Manor for what should have been the Earl of Greystone’s book launch… until he’s found dead just before the party begins. With secrets, suspects and surprises, it’s up to you to solve the mystery.

The evening includes a sparkling arrival drink, a three-course dinner, live murder mystery entertainment, and a disco to end the night. Can you crack the case? 🔎

22nd January 2026, 10am

Step back in time and discover Coventry’s rich weaving history.

In this immersive workshop, participants will:
✨ Explore the wool industry in Coventry
✨ Discover how the collapse of the industry affected ordinary people
✨ Learn how Victorian soup kitchens worked
✨ Experience life as a working Victorian child in a weaving family
✨ See how weaving moved from homes into factories

While all home educating families are welcome, this event is best suited for children aged 7–11.
