We're so excited to announce that we'll be hosting BBC Question Time on campus next week!
The BBC’s flagship political discussion programme, chaired by Fiona Bruce and produced by Mentorn Media, will be filmed at Square One in TheHub.
It will be the second time Square One has hosted Question Time - back in 2017 the show featured politicians Tobias Ellwood, Emily Thornberry, Norman Lamb, journalist Laura Perrins and actor and writer Rob Delaney. The line-up for this month’s show will be revealed closer to the broadcast date.
Coventry University Provost Ian Dunn said: “Universities are an important forum for debate, discussion, and the exchanging of ideas so to welcome back BBC Question Time, is something we’re really excited about.
“Square One is a fantastic venue which has hosted many important events, such as a live broadcast address by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to students in 2022, and we look forward to seeing Fiona Bruce and the panellists later this month.”
The show sees a panel of politicians, journalists, industry experts and the media debate the main political issues of the day, prompted by audience questions. Around 140 people will make up the audience and anyone interested in attending and potentially quizzing the panel can apply here: https://bit.ly/3UMknSC
