One of the lovely things about doing a wedding in a field setting is the peace and quiet before the bride, groom and guests arrive. All I can hear are the birds singing and the occasional rustle from the marquee in the breeze. Oh, and the smoker is ticking along at a steady 225f - the magic number! ❤️

The handsome chap in this photo is my dad. He was a late entry into WW2 due to his age being only 19 when this photo was taken. He still did his bit though and spent time serving in India and Kowloon among others. He was a lucky one that came home relatively unscathed. I can’t begin to imagine what it was like for all the young men and ladies that were heavily leant on to do their bit. Scary doesn’t even come close. We should all be forever grateful they did though.

Not much to say here other than “If you know, you know!”. We love our clients! The Dukes Mayo was a little present for us from the bride and groom at the wedding on Saturday. We’d had a conversation about it in the run up to the wedding and they properly surprised us. Thank you so much, it’s as good as you said it was. The Lowry’s is just something we have in the house all the time and pairs beautifully with the Dukes Mayo on some fries.

We get to see some of the strangest and loveliest things while out catering. Here we have “Man and Robot”, “Brian and Robot” and our setup for today at the lovely . What a great venue. Our first time there, but we hope to go back again soon. Congratulations of course to Charlotte and Kenny. All the very best for the future.

Nice menu choices for Hana and Andrew yesterday. They mentioned they liked cornbread when they came over for a tasting, so we added smoked cornbread just for them.
