Good afternoon, all, and I am wishing you a happy, healthy and peaceful 2026…
I apologise for the radio silence, but life got very busy after creating my new page on 15 November 2025.
On the same day, I contacted all the Corby based Funeral Directors, and within the week, I had secured a meeting with five out of six of them. I have to say that everyone I have met professionally has been so friendly, helpful and supportive, and I am truly grateful.
I, also, visited our local Crematorium in Kettering to get acquainted with the chapels, and introduce myself to the staff, who, again were very helpful.
I thought, at this point, I would just be introducing myself, but I, surprisingly, got a phone call from a Funeral Director within a day of meeting with them, and they asked me if I would lead my first funeral, which was a burial in a local village. I had the privilege of doing this at the beginning of December, followed by three more services in the same month at the chapels in the ground of Kettering Crematorium.
As we start the New Year off, today I have just returned from leading another burial-led service for the same family I conducted my first one for. Although the circumstances are so sad, to return to a family is such an honour…
Tomorrow, I will be leading a family funeral and Wednesday I will be honouring another family as they say goodbye to their loved one.
I am, sincerely, grateful for the support from the staff at our local Funeral Directors for giving me their time to meet with me, and to The Co-operative Funeralcare - Corby and Eternity Funeral Services for giving me the honour and opportunity to be part of the farewell celebrations of our departed loved ones.
I have met some wonderful families in this short space of time, and, although the circumstances are very sad, and sometimes tragic, I want to thank them for letting me into their lives at this very delicate and difficult time. They have let me share some of the feedback with you:-
