I’m very quiet this weekend because I’m at the U.K. FABAC in Coventry .
Friday night they hosted a fantastic pink party night to raise money for breastcancernow .
What an amazing night ❤️
I love this photo taken with Sue Bowler from Bapia , one of the principal organisers of FABAC and Helen Eyre from Bath body art . Both incredible women who are breast cancer survivors x
Last nights party raised an amazing £4k!

It’s Breast Cancer awareness month and it’s hard to believe that this time two years ago , I was recovering from surgery and preparing for chemotherapy after a breast cancer diagnosis .
Fast forward two years and my hairs back at last (although I do miss my wigs!) and this summer I bravely took part in a charity calender organised by the fabulous Sally Smart formerly of Blue bug photography
Sally is a breast cancer thriver herself and had organised a similiar calender two years ago and raised a fantastic amount of money for North Wales Cancer appeal .
This year it’s happening again and this summer I got together with fellow breast cancer thrivers to model for a calender girls style calender .. all to raise money for North Wales Cancer appeal .
This Saturday it’s calender launch night (sadly I can’t attend ) but it’s going to be an amazing day and night at The Red in Dyserth ..
not only that but the wonderful Mark from Art Vision will be there providing face painting from 1pm . All proceeds go directly to the appeal. So get over. Have some fun and support us!
Also don’t forget to buy a calender !

I realised that in the house move craziness , I completely forgot to post my painted ARMy design from Augusts collab .
The theme was designs inspired by natures patterns.
I chose dandelions because they’ve always fascinated me as an amateur photographer they’ve long been the subject of my photography although I’m still to get that “perfect pic”

After a month off from the painted ARMy- It was so nice to be able to get the paints out and join in again this month . 🤩
This months theme was Optical Illusion .. now I left it until the eleventh hour , so not so much an optical illusion 🙈 Always fun to be part of this fab collaboration and they all smashed the theme this month!

THIS ISN’T MY USUAL KIND OF BODY ART…

…but I couldn’t resist sharing this one.

I saw this as a tattoo online and was inspired to try out it out in paint
I’m usually known for my finer, prettier face & body art ..florals, intricate details, swirls and all the colourful stuff …..so going BIG, dark and creepy was a bit of a change for me, especially as I’m not keen on spiders 🤪

And with Halloween creeping closer…

I’m thinking maybe I need to show this side of my work a little more.

Because honestly…

HOW COOL WOULD THIS BE FOR HALLOWEEN?

Whether you’re after something creepy, dramatic, pretty, weird or completely custom, body art can transform the whole look.
I’m taking bookings for events now and bespoke paints across North Wales, Cheshire, Wirral & Shropshire.

Halloween is coming.
The spiders are waiting. ((Shudder))🙈🙈🙈

One of the biggest misconceptions about professional face painting is:

“Oh, I could probably do that.”

And honestly?

You probably could.

You could also probably cut your own hair.

You could wallpaper your home

You could probably decorate your own cake.

But there’s a difference between doing something and spending years learning how to do it REALLY well.

Linework
Blending
Symmetry.
Speed.
Colour placement.
Designing for different face shapes.
Working on moving targets !
Working to a busy queue and still turning out good quality , effective designs

That’s the bit you don’t see.

I’ve been doing this professionally for around 20 years.

And after moving back to North Wales, I’m rebuilding my customer base all over again.

So I’m curious…

Look at my work and tell me honestly , what do you expect from a professional face painter?

Is it detail?

Speed?

Creativity?

Interaction with the clients ?

Or something else?

I genuinely want to know. ✨

And fellow face painters… please don’t be shy. What would YOU add?

You don’t have to be an influencer to be an amazing face painter.

In fact, you don’t even have to want to be an influencer.

Somewhere along the way, social media has made us feel like we’re supposed to constantly be creating content.

Reels.
Stories.
Tutorials.
Trends.
Behind-the-scenes videos.
“Day in the life” posts.
Showing our faces on camera.
Chasing engagement.
Watching the algorithm.

And if you’re not doing all of that, you can sometimes feel like you’re falling behind.

But here’s the thing…

You can be an incredible artist and have 800 followers.

You can be fully booked and barely post.

You can have a thriving business without making a single Reel this week.

You can spend your weekend actually face painting instead of filming yourself face painting.

And you know what?

That’s okay.

I’ve been face painting professionally for 20 years. I’ve watched the industry change dramatically, and I’ve seen social media become a huge part of how we market ourselves.

It can be fantastic.

But I don’t think we should confuse being visible online with being successful in business.

Some of the most talented face painters I know aren’t the ones with the biggest followings.

They’re the ones quietly turning up at events, creating beautiful work, making children happy, building relationships with clients and going home exhausted because they’ve spent the day doing what they love.

Not everyone wants to be a content creator.

Not everyone enjoys being on camera.

Not everyone wants to share their personal life online.

And not everyone has the time or energy to constantly feed the algorithm.

So if you’re a face painter who feels like you’re failing because you don’t have thousands of followers…

Please don’t.

Your worth as an artist isn’t measured by your likes.

Your professionalism isn’t measured by your Reel views.

And your success isn’t determined by how many people follow you.

You don’t have to become an influencer.

You just have to decide what kind of face painter and business owner YOU want to be.

And if you genuinely love creating content and building a following? Brilliant! Go for it!❤️

What a fantastic day at Porsche GB Club rally 🤩
The wind did nearly take off with our gazebo though so we had to hurriedly squeeze into the club gazebo , thanks to Porsche for being so accommodating 😍
Face painting and balloons today and the fact I was able to paint was a miracle as I woke up on Monday morning feeling like I was looking at everything through frosted glass 😳
Several emergency medical trips and eye exams including a fun morning yesterday at Eye clinic casualty , deduced that I have an eye issue meaning my eyes have dried out 😳 .. the heatwave has a lot to answer for ! Although in my case it’s a side effect of my chemotherapy .. and I must now put an artificial coating into my eyes every day , six to eight times a day.. 🙈
Mark forgot his trusty balloon hat , a rainbow bucket hat that also shades him from the sun.. it’s a good job I’ve got after sun in !
Thanks to Porsche GB club for looking after us today 🤩
