Here’s a few of my favs from a wet and muddy trip to Thornton Cleveleys Football Club with Colne F.C.'s The North West Counties Football League - NWCFL team for 2nd round qualifying in the FA Vase. I'm sure by these pics you can see why the match was abandoned after 50 minutes. We'll be back there again to replay at some stage this week⚽🔴

Here’s a little peep from yesterday at Trawden Forest Primary School 📸✨

I spent the day capturing fresh images for their website, and honestly, it was such a joy. From the laughter at lunch to the quiet focus in the classrooms and the fun out on the playground, every corner of the school was buzzing with energy. The children were absolute stars in front of the camera, and the staff couldn’t have been more welcoming. 🥰

What really struck me was how much pride everyone has in their school! It shines through in the little everyday moments. That’s exactly what I love about photography: capturing those real, authentic snapshots that tell the story of a place (or a day!) in a way words can’t.

Here’s a small glimpse of what we created together. Hope you like them as much as I do!

Had such a fabulous day at Trawden Forest Primary School yesterday, capturing fresh moments for their website. 💻📸

It was such a lovely surprise to spot the last set of images we created together proudly up on canvases inside the school and even on a banner at the gates, celebrating their brilliant OFSTED result. Really lovely to see my work being used like that! 🥰✨

We got some gorgeous new shots yesterday (which I’ll be able to share soon), but until then, here’s some quick phone pics of the last lot in situ.

Proud to say I’m part of this amazing journey and to play with such a brilliant set of ladies! Exciting times ahead with the launch of Trawden Celtic Ladies, the first ever ladies side for the club. 🖤🤍

Can’t wait to see what we achieve together this season! 🙌

This year marks my 22nd year teaching middle school, and yesterday may have been one of the most impactful days of my career.

I tried something new called “The Baggage Activity.” I asked my students what it means to have baggage, and they said it’s the hurtful stuff you carry on your shoulders. Then I gave them each a piece of paper and asked them to write down what was weighing heavy on their hearts—what was hurting them, what they were struggling with. No names. Just honesty.

When they were done, they crumpled their papers and threw them across the room. Each student picked up a random paper and read it out loud. After each one, I asked if the writer wanted to share more.

What happened next moved me to tears. My students opened up about things far heavier than any child should have to carry—suicidal thoughts, parents in prison, family struggles with drugs, abandonment, death, cancer, and heartbreak over lost pets (one even said their gerbil died because it was fat, and we managed a much-needed laugh 😅).

Some cried while reading their classmates’ words. Some cried as they revealed their own. It was raw. It was emotional. And it was powerful.

At the end, I told them that the bag now hanging by our classroom door is a symbol: we all have baggage, but in this room, we leave it at the door. Here, we are not alone. Here, we are loved. Here, we have each other’s backs.

It was a draining day, but I believe my students walked away with softer hearts—ready to judge less, love more, and forgive faster.

I am deeply honored to be their teacher.
