GROUP C – ROUND 9 – Lets do the Time Warp!

This week a solid 10 drivers took to the track and the Group C Time Machine took us back to the 1980s for Round 9 at Northern Raceway, and with just ONE ROUND TO GO, the championship is really heating up!

Nick was once again set the pace, taking the win borrowing Leightons Lancia LC2 with an impressive 176.305 laps, including the fastest lap of the night at 7.922 seconds. That result strengthens Nick’s grip on the championship with just one round remaining.

Behind him, Rob arrived with his new Jaguar XJR12 and immediately showed what it could do, taking an impressive 2nd place with 173.229 laps.

Harry Archer was back on the pace after his recent car refurbishment, producing one of his best performances of the season. His 170.053 laps secured 3rd, just ahead of Jeff Norton.

Jon Davies continued his consistent form in 5th, while further down the field there were some great battles between Jason Gilray, Anthony Fitton, Mark Brandwood and Phil Clayton.

Jason put together one of his best performances yet, finishing 7th with 160.477 laps.

And then in one of the heats Mark becme Marky McFly as he entered the bridge section and appeared to disappear into another time zone!

Great Scott! Had Mark hit 88mph and gone Back to the Future?
The marshalls searched everywhere and he eventually reappeared… although it seems he may have left a couple of laps somewhere back in 1985!

THE FINAL ROUND
Takes place on Tuesday 3rd November
Get those Group C cars ready because this is the final championship round of the season!

It’s also the perfect chance to get some final preparation and track time ahead of the Mancs v Lancs Slot.it Group C Challenge at Northern Raceway the following Saturday, 7th November.

🏁 **GREAT NORTH SLOT RACE – NORTHERN RACEWAY!** 🏁

What a Sunday! 🔥

The Great North Slot Race rolled into Lancashire, with 18 racers, 3 classes and a full day of close, competitive racing at Northern Raceway.

🏎️ F1 Sprint: Nick Hirst took the win, ahead of Jeff Norton and Jon Davies.
🏁 Saloons: Jeff Norton came out on top after a fantastic drive, with Nick 2nd and Rob Heseltine 3rd.
🚗 Sports GT: Another brilliant battle between Jeff and Nick, with Jeff taking victory by less than half a lap!

👏 A big well done to all our Top Guest Drivers, Marty Cook, Nick Dodds and Mark Brandwood who all picked up PSR Vouchers.

Most importantly, it was a fantastic atmosphere, great racing and a brilliant crowd. Exactly what slot racing should be!

Huge thanks to Jon and Mark for helping with Race Control, and to Gerry for giving us the opportunity to host a Great North Slot Racing round.

🍕🏁 PIZZA NIGHT AT NORTHERN RACEWAY! 🏁🍕

Another brilliant Friday night at Northern Raceway with ! 🙌

Great atmosphere, loads of different cars, plenty of laughs and some seriously close racing! 🏎️💨

It was also fantastic to welcome some new faces to the track. We hope you had a great time getting stuck into the racing and Pizza! 👏

🏁 REVO SLOT GT – ROUND 5

The Tale of the Tortoise & the Hare! 🐢🐇

Tuesday night saw Round 5 of the Revo Slot GT Series, with six racers taking to the grid.

This will unfortunately be our final Revo Slot meeting at Northern Raceway for the foreseeable future, with low numbers in the class. Looking ahead to 2027, we're simplifying the racing calendar to **four classes spread across each month**, making the fixtures easier to follow and hopefully building bigger grids.

With six drivers, we switched to a three-lane format, giving everyone six heats of racing.

🏆 Nick took the overall win with a great combination of pace and consistency, while Jeff secured second ahead of Rob.

Jon was one of the quickest drivers on track but a few too many offs cost him valuable laps.

And then came the perfect example of the Tortoise & Hare!

🐢 Rob recorded the slowest fastest lap in one of his heats… but still won it thanks to having the best average lap time! Sometimes keeping it clean is more important than chasing the fastest lap!

👏 A big welcome to Neil, our newest racer, who made his Revo Slot debut and showed some really promising pace.

Thanks to everyone who came along and made it an enjoyable night of racing.

This October we have some great events lined up.

Join us for our Pizza night this Friday, Ideal for first timers.

We are also hosting a round of the Great North Slot Car race series as well as all the usual race nights for Juniors and adults.

We also have a couple of Birthday Parties booked in too which we are looking forward too.

Friday it was our regular Junior race night.

As always it was brilliant and some excellent racing.

Well done to Jacob who was our driver of the week as he marshalled when he was supposed to, well behaved and put in a great performance in the finals.

Next junior race night is on October the 16th. All welcome.
