Classics Round 4 Race Report

Last Tuesday saw Round 4 of the Classics Championship, and while the weather was hot, the action on track was even hotter.

Nick Hirst took the overall victory in the heat races with an impressive total of 121.652 laps in his NSR Porsche 917/10, continuing his strong form this season. Leighton Hirst finished second in the McLaren M6 with 118.144 laps after battling handling issues and the pressure applied by his dad, Nick. Despite those challenges, Leighton set the fastest lap of the night with a superb 7.679 seconds.
Rob Heseltine completed the podium in third place, driving his Lola T70 to 112.945 laps.

The battle for positions was close throughout the evening, with Jasper and Jon rounding out the top five. With quick lap times and plenty of close racing across all the heats, Round 4 delivered another exciting night of Classic Sports competition.

C Final
Cashy took a commanding victory ahead of Phil, Simon, and Frank.

B Final
Jasper made a strong start and took the lead early, but a crash on lap 4 allowed Cashy to move into first place, where he stayed for the next nine laps. Jasper refused to give up and produced an excellent recovery drive, retaking the lead on lap 14 and going on to win the B Final. Cashy finished second, Phil third, while Jon retired on lap 4 with mechanical issues.

A Final
The A Final was a closely fought contest. Leighton made some final adjustments to his car before the race, finding just enough extra pace to take the win from Nick, who pushed him all the way to the chequered flag. The pair were separated by just 0.6 seconds at the finish.
Behind them, Jasper and Rob enjoyed a fantastic battle for third place and were evenly matched throughout the race, with Rob eventually clinching the final podium position by less than a second.

Next week we return for Round 6 of the Group C Series. See you then!

GT3 Enduro 2026 – Round 4 Report

Friday night saw Round 4 of the GT3 championship, with eight teams taking to the track for another competitive evening of racing.

There were driver changes for three teams for round 4. Milly stepped in for Jim at Cold Fingers Racing and delivered an impressive performance, helping the team secure a strong second-place finish.
There was also movement within the Blues Brothers camp. Jon swapped from Blues Brothers Racing to join with Leighton for Red Line Racing as Jasper was unable to make this round. In Jon’s place, Nick partnered with Simon to complete Team Blues Brothers.

At the front, it was Redline Racing who claimed their fourth win of the season with another dominant performance. Cold Fingers Racing comfortably secured second place ahead of The Blues Brothers, who rounded out the podium in third.

Early car trouble saw Hugosonic drop back through the order, but a determined recovery drive helped them fight back to fourth place by the end of the night. They finished just two laps ahead of The Green Team, who delivered another solid and consistent performance to secure fifth.

Sixth place went to Dexter and Tim of 2 Fast 2 Furious. Both drivers continue to show consistency and determination, and with a little more track time they should be able to improve their pace in a few key areas.

Matthew showed excellent speed for M&S Racing, putting in some very impressive laps throughout the evening. A little more consistency could see him challenging among the front-runners alongside teammate and dad Simon, who once again showed strong consistency across the night as the team finished seventh overall.

Rounding out the field in eighth place was Team Wheatabix with the duo of Jude and dad Mark. Mark produced some of his best racing despite limited track time, while Jude, now one of the more experienced Junior Night racers, is continuing to adapt well to racing cars without magnets. Mum Claire was once again helping out from the sidelines… although we may get her on track one day!

The next GT3 Night takes place on June 5th. See you all then for more GT3 action.
