While I LOVE receiving the professional photos, it’s always a joy to see the very first pics, often taken by friends and family and here are a few kindly shared by real bride, Katie.

Katie contacted me at the end of last year requesting veiling tulle samples, upon the recommendation of a friend. She was seeking a veil with structure and volume and in a non-traditional colour for her summer wedding in London.

Over various email chats, we finally decided on a column veil in Eco illusion tulle which I custom dyed to a gentle shade of ballet blush - keeping the tone subtle but stepping away from ivory.

How joyful are these preview photos from Lydia and Jerry’s early August wedding?

Lydia’s granddad was a skilled calligrapher and she chose to include him by recreating his beautiful wording, in thread, upon her wedding veil. Lydia sent me an image of one of his pieces, choosing the words that she wanted to have embroidered.

I’m in awe of the art of calligraphy and it was an honour to work in hand-embroidery with Lydia’s granddad’s work, fusing the two art forms together.

For the veil, Lydia chose a column design, created using our Eco illusion tulle, a fabric with a crisp texture which holds its shape and works perfectly with Lydia’s stunning gown. We chose an epic veil length of 450 cm which would extend beyond the dress and showcase the embroidery.

Lydia and Jerry’s photographer has perfectly captured the joy and spirit of that very special day at and I can’t wait to share more!

Stunning real bride opted for a two-tier bespoke frill veil to complement her gorgeous dress.

We created Tonia’s drop veil using our signature, soft silky tulle, trimming the circumference with a hand-gathered frill.

The veil shape contrasts with the clean, narrow lines of Tonia’s dress, the movement of the cascading frill, creating a harmonious balance between structure and fluidity - that was the goal and we achieved it!

Most of my embroidery is done by hand, which is my embroidery method of choice, a direct connection between the maker, the tools and the fabric.

Adding an embroidered detail is a special way of personalising your veil, making it uniquely yours and perhaps creating an heirloom bridal piece for future generations to wear.

Today I’m thrilled to share a few perfect moments captured at Lauren and Jack’s destination wedding in beautiful Barcelona.

Lauren chose a frill-edged veil created in a drop design - for that lifting-of-the-veil moment plus the soft tulle makes it the ideal choice for a long journey as the fabric doesn’t hold creases.

I’m often asked “how long do you wear your wedding veil - when is the usual time to remove it?”

I’d like to say, keep it on for as long as possible because, well, when else would you get to wear a wedding veil? Of course there are no rules - the choice is yours.

Some brides choose to remove it straight after the ceremony, especially if they’ve chosen a veil which is particularly long or heavily embellished. Some brides keep their veils on throughout the whole day and night.

I’ve just created a bustle veil for a September bride who plans to wear her very statement blush veil from start to finish - once the ceremony is done, she’ll be able to pin the length up into the veil comb for a shorter, sassy look.

Even though she went for a long design, I love that Charlotte kept her veil in place for the reception and I particularly seeing pics of my brides dancing the night away, veil still very much in tact!

If you’d like to wear your veil all day, we can factor this into the design to ensure this is very much an option 🫶

“Will the veil obscure my dress?”

So long as you choose a Sash + Veil tulle and a photographer who is skilled in capturing stunning veil shots, then NEVER!

We have spent years trialling and sampling many different tulles until we landed on those we use today - the non-negotiables are that they must be super sheer, fine and of the best quality.

You should also consider how your wedding photos will look - take your time to choose a photographer whose work aligns with your vision and whose veil captures take your breath away: for me, when I saw Ashton and James’ photos, .photos did just that!

Real bride Ashton chose an epic, super long drop veil trimmed with Florence French lace, expertly guided by our Northampton stockist, Victoria Lou Bridal.

• TWO LOOKS - ONE VEIL •

We have designed our lace-trimmed veil in such a way that it can be worn two ways.

This would be the perfect choice for you if you just can’t decide between a two tier or a single tier wedding veil or perhaps you would like to have two different veil looks for your wedding photos.

We have carefully sampled and re-sampled the veil cut, tweaking the shape many times until we landed on the perfect design to give our brides this versatility and ensure the dimensions and proportion would work for both veil styles.

The veil attachment is discreetly placed in the centre of the veil to form two tiers with an additional attachment hidden at the edge to enable the veil to be transformed into a mantilla.

• ZOE’s VEIL FEATURING RUSTY •

I’ve had sooo many lovely comments following wonderful video (see the last reel) featuring Zoe’s veil so i just had to share a few more pics from Zoe’s wedding.

Zoe and I bonded over our love of cats and soon on into designing Zoe’s veil we discovered that our cats (my first cat and first love Rusty) and Zoe’s cat shared the same name.

Zoe’s veil was an Edie waterfall veil created from our super soft, delicate tulle which she chose to have embellished with randomly scattered floating pearls.

The music to my ears was the finishing touch - Zoe wanted to include her special feline boy in their special day. As a surprise to her fiancé, Zoe sent me an outline of Rusty’s actual paw print which I embroidered onto her veil.

He wasn’t even there but I feel like he was the star of the show - scroll this way ~> to see the man himself!
