At Sash + Veil, we bring you over 15 years' of experience from some of London's finest couture studios. We offer exquisitely embellished bridal sashes and hand decorated veils to suit every taste, style and budget. You can select something from our range or we just love working with our brides to make something especially for you - we can even incorporate a piece of your own jewellery or beads o

r pearls into your sash design. We can even include a silk panel into the back of your sash hand-embrodered with your names and the date of your wedding. And… our products will come to you beautifully gift boxed with lashings of crisp tissue paper and luxurious ribbon!

Our WATERLILY veil pictured in gorgeous monochrome photographed by in that gentle late afternoon light …

Created from our Eco illusion tulle, the Waterlily is a drop veil embellished with delicate blooms sculpted in chiffon, reminiscent of the opalescent petals of the magnificent waterlily flower.

An embellished drop veil works so well with a plain dress, adding a couture touch without overwhelming the look plus choosing your wedding veil to be created from a structured tulle (such as our Eco or SV illusion) is a good choice if you have 3-D detailing on your dress such as a bow, as the veil will stand away from it.

In these images, our veils were invited along to creative workshop hosted by .co against the backdrop of the beautiful located in the heart of the Cotswolds.

One of the things we’ll discuss when we’re designing your veil is how you’ll be wearing your hair. It can be tricky styling a bob with a veil but real bride shows you exactly how it’s done…

Gemma found her dress and wedding veil at our Northamptonshire stockist - Victoria stocks a selection of our veils and will expertly guide you towards the perfect dress and veil combination.

Gemma chose a dress accessorised with a SV illusion tulle ‘barely there’ wedding veil in a royal length. Gemma’s beachy waved bob frames the face and draws attention to the neckline and shoulders, providing contrast to the shape of her dress and fluid vertical lines of her sheer, flowing veil.

Gemma’s look feels fresh and contemporary and we’re obsessed!

• POPPY’S VEIL •

Poppy’s veil was gifted to her by her Uncle, who is a very good friend - so another very special commission!

Poppy chose a column shaped wedding veil created in SV illusion light ivory tulle which I then trimmed with a delicate Chantilly lace. The final touch was recreating Poppy’s fiancé’s writing in hand-embroidery at the end of the veil.

Chantilly lace is crafted using a traditional bobbin lace technique, where the artisan will weave intricate floral patterns by hand on a fine tulle or net background, where the motifs are often outlined with a fine cordonnet (corded) thread - it’s delicate, soft and super lightweight lace.

Chantilly lace should be hand stitched in place using a very fine thread, with the stitches following the cordonnet outlines

Chantilly is such a beautiful lace and it works so well with embroidery, combining the two artisanal crafts of hand-embroidery and lace making.

It’s so lovely to wake up to real bride Becky and Callum’s wedding being featured over on the wedding blog.

Although I often get to hear some of the detail of the wedding when we’re planning the wedding veil, it’s always a treat to read the whole story. We created Becky’s veil from our Marise soft tulle which is an ideal fabric for a destination wedding - it’s soft, lightweight, super fine and won’t hold creases.

It’s not often, in our business, that you have returning customers but I made Aimee’s veil for her London wedding back in 2022. Fast forward three years and Aimee asked me to make a veil for their second wedding in Mallorca.

I was also delighted to hear that who had shot Aimee and Harry‘s London wedding, was back for the Mallorca celebrations - a happy reunion all round!

Aimee came to the studio back in the springtime and chose a Sofia drop veil to complement her dress - the soft tulle we use to create Sofia is perfect for travel as it’s super fine and lightweight, doesn’t hold creases and can be folded for the journey - but will still look spectacular for your wedding!

I LOVE how Lynne has so perfectly captured the light and atmosphere of this very special day.

We were thrilled to be asked by the lovely Hannah at our Nottingham stockist to design and create an embroidery to personalise her bride, Tamara’s Lucia column veil.

The roses are a nod to Tamara’s maiden name which we created by embroidering and then appliquéing to add texture and depth to the outline design.

Pairing a simple, structured gown with a voluminous, sheer veil creates balance between solidity and airiness, enhancing the contrast. I recall contrast and composition from my art college days - at the time I had no idea that the future me would be using it in wedding veil design!

• ELLA’S VEIL •

“Hi Heather, I just wanted to say a massive thank you again, will send over a few pictures of the veil on the day. There were lots of tears about how beautiful it was! ☺️”

This was such was a special way to begin the week – a sweet message from lovely Ella sending me a few photos from her day.

I embroidered Ella’s husband’s handwriting, centring it at the end of her veil. I embroidered by hand, as I always do: hand-embroidery is by far the best technique to use when embellishing handwriting - you have direct connection to the thread and tulle and so can more accurately recreate the nuance and flow of the lettering as it was originally written.

Sophie contacted me seeking a bespoke bridal scarf to work with her stunning dress - a dress that Sophie’s aunt wore 23 years ago!

We scheduled in a call to discuss options and I then shared a few sample fabrics for Sophie to choose the colour and texture she preferred.

She opted for a pure silk georgette and these GORGEOUS photos say it all - the perfect choice!

If you’re thinking about a bridal scarf, consider ~>

~ The fabric: tulle, chiffon, georgette, and organza but all have different qualities

~ The finish: we can pin hem, overlock or leave a raw edge (tulle only)

~ The flow: a scarf can be created as single layer or double layer (‘bagged out’) - a single layer will drape and have a more sheer, relaxed look

• Handwritten Embroidery •

I was so thankful to have been able to fit in this last-minute wedding veil for an August bride, embellished with her Dad’s handwriting (a sunbeam crept in as I was taking the photo 🥹)

Due to a change in circumstance, she needed the veil urgently and so after a weekend in the studio and some late night hand-embroidering we were able to deliver.

It’s always an honour to be asked to make a meaningful piece embroidered with the handwriting of a loved one and this one was particularly special to me.

Even if you think you’ve left it too late to order, sometimes we are able to accommodate last minute orders - it’s always worth dropping us an email on [email protected] to check.
