This charity event celebrates and honours Arthur Whiston, on the 1st anniversary of his sudden passing in July 2024. Arthur was integral to The Colchester Harriers, a long term member known by all in the Harriers and the running community of Colchester and beyond and who influenced many generations of runners: Loved by all.

The hand full of people that were on the start list have all been emailed and a full refund will be received to anyone who doesn’t want to transfer it to next year or one of our other events! Hi Guys,

We are very pleased and excited to announce that the Summer Solstice Challenge, in association with Essex Wildlife Trust, who will be receiving a donation from the proceeds of this event, is back for a second year. We will be hosting this cracking event from the Abberton Reservoir Visitors Centre near Colchester for a great evening of running on the longest day of the year, the Summer Solstice, on Saturday 21st June starting at 3pm. This is your chance to have a long run on the longest day of the year and celebrate the Summer Solstice.

Our event will start at 3pm and finishing at 9pm. You will be running just over 5k laps with the stunning scenery and cracking off road paths on a loop around the Res. The question is, how many laps can you do on this challenge ? We are confident some might make marathon distance, or even ultra distance from this 6 hour challenge, but whatever you choose to do, whether it being to run for 1 hour or 6, we are sure you will love this awesome event. The laps start and finish at the Visitors Centre so each and every lap you will be coming by our feed station. This will be well stocked and obviously free to keep you going all evening sign up with the link below 👇 😎🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️‍➡️🙌🤘 what distance can you challenge yourself to do ? 5k,10k , half marathon, full marathon or an ultra marathon?????

So not only am I bringing back our awesome Dave wright’s Colchester 7.5mile & 15 mile road race ! For the 6th year in 2026 , but I am also putting up a £50 cash prize if you can beat our current record holders times ! and here they are !

Here are the full results for Dave Wrights Colchester 15 mile Road Race. First place and overall winner was Gareth Carey, Springfield Striders, in a time of 1:27:20 and 2nd place was Chris Ryan, Colchester Harriers AC in 1:29:28 and 3rd Paul Almond in 1:36:43.

First female was Louise McDonnell, Wymondham AC, in a time of 1:42:59 and 2nd was Danielle Meadows, Tiptree RR, 1:51:27 and 3rd was Angela Ransome, Lonely Goat RC, 1:55:36

Male Team Prize went to Great Bentley RC - Jon Mann, Justine Hayhoe and Dave Allen.

Female Team Prize went to Tiptree RR - Danielle Meadows, Sarah Banyard and Julia Bawden.

Well done to wach and everyone of you.

Here are the full results for our Dave Wright’s 7.5 Colchester Road Race.
In first place overall was the young talent Kayleigh Atkinson 48:08, Chelmsford AC, taking second place overall was Keith Marley, Colchester Harriers AC, in a time of 50:47 and third overall was James Waterson, Colchester Harriers AC in a time of 53:33.

Female team prize went to Great Bentley - Maddie Clifton, Lindsey Allen and Donna Parker-Evans.

Male team prize went to Colchester Harriers AC- Keith Marley, James Waterson and international athlete and superstar Kieran Callaghan.

1st female Kayleigh Atkinson, Chelmsford AC 48:08, 2nd Rebecca Collar 55:17 and 3rd Mary Narey, Stowmarket Striders 60:35.

1st male Keith Marley, Colchester Harriers AC 50:47, 2nd James Waterson, Colchester Harriers AC 53:33, 3rd Simon Smith Halstead RRC 60:54……. Well done everyone 🤘🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️‍➡️💪🙌🤘x
