🏆 WE’VE BEEN SHORTLISTED! 🏆

We’re incredibly proud to announce that Event Essex has been shortlisted for Event of the Year (under 300) at the MIA Awards!

The nomination recognises our work hosting five professional cycling teams during the Lloyds Tour of Britain. Over three nights, we transformed the University of Essex campus into a high-performance base, coordinating accommodation, catering, security, transport and media requirements.

A huge thank you to our brilliant Event Essex team and everyone across the University who helped make the event possible. Your expertise, dedication and teamwork were at the heart of its success!

Being recognised alongside some of the best in the events industry is a fantastic achievement.

What a week for Event Essex! 🚒

We recently welcomed the UKRO Festival of Rescue 2026 to the University of Essex, working alongside Essex County Fire and Rescue Service to deliver an event unlike anything we had hosted before.

For the first time, our campus car parks were transformed into large-scale event spaces for realistic rescue challenges. Teams from across the UK and beyond demonstrated their skills in vehicle extrication, trauma care and casualty care, while visitors explored the Community Village and learned more about the work of the fire and rescue community.

Behind the scenes, Event Essex supported the event spaces, accommodation and wider campus experience, before helping to deliver a special gala dinner recognising the skill, dedication and service of those involved.

This was a new challenge for our team and a brilliant example of what can be achieved through collaboration.

A huge thank you to Essex County Fire and Rescue Service, our campus colleagues, partners and everyone who worked behind the scenes to bring it all together. We are incredibly proud of what we delivered.

What a Summer it's been! From conferences and residential stays to celebrations, our campus has been buzzing with activity.

We've welcomed guests from near and far, hosted events across our unique spaces and made the most of those long Summer days.

One of the highlights was the Beth Chatto Symposium, bringing together horticulture enthusiasts & experts to celebrate the incredible legacy and influence of one of Essex's most renowned garderners.
