Congratulation to Hayley and James following their wonderful November wedding on Friday. They were blessed with beautiful weather!

The wedding couple did a fab job with the decor and florals in Autumnal colours.
A combination of different sized artificial candles gave a warm glow to the Corsellis Room and Long Gallery. The evening celebrations moved into the Barn.

We’re thrilled to share that there are still a few remaining tickets for our very special festive event, nestled near Colchester, Layer Marney Tower provides a truly enchanting setting for an unforgettable Christmas celebration.

A welcome glass of “Smoking Bishop” or blackcurrant steam on arrival in the barn.
A three-course Christmas dinner: homemade soup & bread roll, followed by turkey and all the trimmings, finishing with Christmas pudding & brandy sauce.
Beautiful live performance of The Tailor of Gloucester by Minty Spectre, part storytelling, part musical ensemble, weaving classic and original Christmas songs around the tale.
Time at the end for some light browsing of the gift stall before you depart full of festive cheer.

Congratulations and best wishes to Lara and David!

The newlyweds joined us following a church wedding ceremony in Colchester.

The Long Gallery was dressed beautifully by Bouquet Garni Caterers and W Flowers and was used for the wedding breakfast and speeches.

The evening reception then took place in our Barn, with live music by After Hours Live Band to get the party celebrations underway.

Live illustrator Scribble & Sparkle - live illustrator provided guests with beautiful keepsakes.

We were delighted to welcome book lovers to Layer Marney Tower for a wonderful day celebrating the power of words and imagination. Set against our historic Tudor backdrop, Winter Books brought together an inspiring line-up of authors for engaging talks, thoughtful conversation and a shared love of literature inside our cosy barn.

This famous quote by Margaret Atwood was disproved by our wonderful guests "Wanting to meet an author because you like his work is like wanting to meet a duck because you like pâté"
