Not everything goes to plan…
This is the bit you don’t always see behind the finished flowers…
I had a completely different idea in my head for this one. I was going to create a 3-ribbon pleat, with the three colours working together to create a particular effect.
So I started… and carried on… and eventually finished the pleating. Outside and inside the ring.
And then I stood back and thought… nope. That’s not going to friggin work. 😂
So, rather than trying to make something work that clearly wasn’t, I stopped, had a rethink, took it all to pieces and changed the design.
I decided to layer the three ribbon colours around the edge instead.
And that's the reality of creating floral work — sometimes you have to rethink, change direction and try something completely different.
It doesn't always go to plan first time… and that's okay.
Sometimes the best ideas come from the ones that didn't quite work in the first place!
