Who doesn't love an 80's themed event? The conference side of things was hosted at the PHOENIX distribution centre in Wakefield where we added to the existing AV set up to give them everything they needed to present to the Sales team.

Then it was over to Thorpe Hall Hotel & Spa for the evening celebrations.

We set up bright backdrops, neon Asteria tubes, colour changing led cubes, sound, screens and lighting to give that 80's party vibe.

Other theming included a Pac Man arcade game, fancy dress, tonnes of 80's cardboard cut outs and table decs.

Our favourite was the Freddie Mercury cardboard cut out, which may or may not have made its way to the office.

Taste Lancashire Producer Awards 🥧

An evening dedicated to celebrating the exceptional offerings in Lancashire, highlighting the amazing venues, delicious produce, and the remarkable large and small businesses within our county. This event showcases the best of what Lancashire has to offer.

Hosted at Winter Gardens & Blackpool Conference And Exhibition Centre the event flowed from the drinks reception with Red Rose Gobo's shining brightly into the main space which looked incredible, with gorgeous floral table centres.

This venue has a huge amount of tech and AV already installed so we collaborated with the in house team to produce this event. Their team looked after all things sound and lights and we linked into their screens to display the graphics for the awards.

We added some extras to bring the event to life such as a Light Box for the stage with a custom printed graphic (which didn't include the date so can be used again, yey!) some sparkly fountains for effect, reception lighting wiht bespoke red rose gobos, glitter lecterns and one very important part that no ones sees...Showcalling.

What is Showcalling? Ask Google and you will get the answer 'Showcalling is the art and science of executing the technical aspects of a production or event in real time'.

For us the most important thing is to keep a cool head and ensure you relay info to the tech team in a timely manner, even when presenters go off scripts or things don't go to plan, someone has to make the decision what to do, what to cue and that falls to the Showcaller.

Luckily this event went very smooth, no last-minute decisions to be made, all thanks to the scrupulous planning from the Marketing Lancashire team led by the wonderful Vikki Harris & Maria Moriarty Eames.

This week we staged Lead The Way on behalf of Safran in Burnley, I'm not sure how many of these events we have done now but its definitely in the double figures!

We switched up the usual Stage Set set up and instead installed a wall of led that showed off their eye catching graphics and made the most of the space in the room. Using a pip (picture in picture)we displayed the PowerPoint and later on the amazing work by Emma Weston who captured the mornings session in a digital illustration perfectly.

My favourite thing about led walls is the minimum waste we have from an event when using them, they really are the sustainable option, slot them back in the flight case after and 'jobs a good en' as us Northerners say, no polythene or bubble wrap in sight.

Congratulations Rafi!

You absolutely smashed the Great North Run just like we all knew you would.

For anyone not familiar with he is the most remarkable human.

At just 12 years old, Rafi’s world changed when he suffered a life-changing stroke, spending over a year in hospital. But that wasn’t the end of his story — it was the beginning of a new chapter.

Thanks to support from the Boparan Charitable Trust Rafi received his first running frame… and he hasn’t stopped running since — going on to win gold and silver medals in the 100m and 200m!

We first had the pleasure of meeting Rafi whilst filming a video for the Bright Star Ball which is a fundraising event for , since then we have caught up with him at their events and everytime he just amazes us with what he has been up to.

We’re proud to have sponsored Rafi in his latest challenge and can’t wait to see what he gets up next!

We were thrilled to support the local community in Sabden by contributing our event and technical expertise to the Rose Queen Fundraiser event at St Nicholas' church. This 75-year-old tradition saw Mia, the daughter of our Technical Manager, Shaune, as the 2023-2024 Rose Queen, prompting us to go above and beyond to make it a memorable occasion.

The day started with a traditional Bingo session led by Mia, followed by a lively Bingo Bonanza in the evening, featuring comedy hosts, fun prizes, dance-offs, and late-night celebrations. Our F2 panels in 4 columns, enhanced with special effects, and the vibrant lights & P.A system created an awesome ambiance for all.

One of the best parts was having H (aka Howard) with us for the night, many of you will recognise him as he hasn't changed one bit in 20 plus years since he was a regular on the ICS tech team, a life-long family friend.

The event was a huge success, with a full house, a well-managed licensed bar, and dedicated volunteers ensuring a smooth operation. Thanks to everyone's generosity, the fundraiser accumulated a remarkable total of £2,557.58 for the church's funds.
