After 8 years of studying classical music and violin
in Lausanne’s conservatory (Switzerland), Rebecca
Freitas aka Baka G decided to explore new musical
horizons, and started to learn guitar by herself,
drawing her musical color from the Parisian &
Brusselian House parties.
Baka G’s musical output embodies an inherently
infectious positive energy. She’s part of the new
wave of French house producers, turning heads
through a consistent schedule of quality releases on
Happiness Therapy and Groovytude.
Such momentum hasn’t gone unnoticed by
European club bookers, with recent plays across
Spain, France and Germany bolstering her
emergence, and has seen her gaining support from
producers like Oden & Fatzo, Baccus, Marc Brauner
& Crowd Control, whilst her Brussels Kultur Bazart
residency continues to go from strength to strength,
forming the perfect foundation for a highlight year
ahead.
Influenced by disco, latino, soulful house and deep
house, her funk-driven productions are following
Franckie Knuckles’ quote « House music is disco’s
revenge ». Her groovy basses and warm vocals will
definitely put a smile upon your face.
