Claypole Village Hall is an early 20th century 'arts and crafts' style building with beautiful period features, making it a great venue for wedding receptions, parties, fairs, events, as well as being a fantastic community space. It was gifted to the village by benefacto

r Harry Coulby, a Claypole-born man who made his fortune in shipping in the USA but never forgot his roots in the Lincolnshire village. As well as the impressive main hall (which features a stage & servery/bar area), there are beautiful gardens, a large grassed area (suitable for a marquee), ample parking and a children's play area. We are also lucky to have The Side House Coffee Shop in the adjoining former caretaker's cottage - well worth a visit for breakfast, lunch or coffee & cake. The Hall is a charitable trust and run by a management committee, rather than by the local Parish Council. Exciting news!
Little City - Lincolnshire is back in Claypole in October half term and this time Sam js bringing Animals UK with her. 🐍

Soooooo many of you messaged me asking where the next collaboration with the INCREDIBLE Animals UK will be? I wasn't going to reveal yet but felt that was a little mean!

So...

Monday 26th October (Half term), there'll be 2 sessions with Animals UK at... drumroll please....

Claypole Village Hall in Newark.

These sessions are free-flow so the children (and grown ups!) can play in the city and head over to the animals as and when they want! The Animals UK team are the best in the business and know how the city sessions work so compliment it perfectly!

T1ckets will go on sale soon so keep your eyes peeled!

Cook / Front of House team member Wanted
With moving away, George is Cooking is looking for a new second in command to join the trailer! We serve up epic Greek street food, vibrant tapas, and bespoke event menus across Nottinghamshire & Lincolnshire.
We are looking for either a Chef with some experience wanting sociable hours, OR a Front of House natural who wants to learn to cook on the trailer.
The Details:
🗓️ When: Mostly Thu, Fri, Sat (plus occasional ad-hoc days). Hours negotiable.
📍 Where: Mobile locations across Notts/Lincs (must be able to travel).
⚡ The Vibe: Fast-paced, busy, and fun. Excellent customer service skills are a must!
🧼 Food Safety: Level 2 Hygiene preferred (but we can provide training for the right person).

⚽️THANK YOU to everyone who came along to the hall to watch the football on Saturday and Wednesday night. We had a great time and we hope you did too, even if the end result didn’t go our way😢
🙏 Huge thanks, as always, go to our lovely volunteers (and their family members who often get roped in!) - what you see on the night is a fraction of the work that goes into hosting these events.

From a fundraising point of view, it was a big success - funds generated mean that we can offer the hall at a lower fee/no fee for activities like:
🎄 the seniors' Xmas lunch,
🤎Brownies' fun days
☕️ the monthly Co-op Cuppa
🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒 community activity days
⚒️ as well as helping with the cost of repairs & maintenance at the hall

We’re a really a small team and, to be honest, we’re really feeling the pressure at the moment. If you feel you could offer to help, we’d love to hear from you. Any amount of time you can spare can make a huge difference. 🙋 🙋‍♀️
