Compass Chef Appreciation Week!

As Chef Appreciation Week at Compass Group UK & Ireland comes to an end, we wanted to put the spotlight on the people who are so often behind the scenes, but whose work our guests get to enjoy every single day.

As a team, we see how much goes into what our chefs do and just how demanding their job can be. The very early mornings, baking warm, crispy pastries so they’re ready for an 8 am conference; the late finishes after fine dining and canapé dinners; the long shifts, busy days and sometimes very challenging working conditions - especially during a London heatwave, when the ovens are running at full pace, and the kitchen is working flat out.
And alongside all of that, there is so much hard work, perseverance and creativity. Bringing recipes to life, creating beautiful, colourful dishes full of flavour, developing menus, adapting recipes for guests with different allergies and dietary requirements, and cooking for four different groups of guests when we have multiple events taking place on the same day.
We also see the organisation behind it all - the planning, timekeeping, orders, suppliers and making sure everything is ready exactly when it needs to be.
And, of course, the huge amount of patience you show our sales and front-of-house teams when we come with questions, requests and sometimes changes at short notice!

Our food is at the heart of the service we provide, and it’s often one of the most complimented parts of our guests’ feedback.

So this Friday, we want to say a big thank you to our brilliant kitchen team at Prince Philip House - Head Chef Stuart Cooper, Sous Chef Leo, Commis Chef Luca, Peter and the wider team behind them.
Because no matter how great the venue, the AV or the room setup, food is such an important part of our guests’ experience. And we’re very lucky to have a team who put so much care, creativity and hard work into it every day.

We see it, we appreciate it, and we’re very grateful for everything you do. ❤️

We hope you’re enjoying the summer and making the most of the sunshine! ☀️

It’s a little quieter at Prince Philip House this month, so we’re taking a moment to look back at a recent private dinner and some of the beautiful dishes served to our guests.

Created by our Head Chef, Stuart Cooper , and the talented team Leonardo at Company of Cooks, the menu celebrated the best of the season, using fresh, carefully sourced and local ingredients.

Colourful, elegant and full of summer flavours, each dish was a little work of art — and absolutely delicious! ✨

A big thank you to Stuart and the whole team for creating such a memorable dining experience for our guests. 🍽️

A bespoke menu created by our talented chefs here at Prince Philip House for one of our summer receptions in the Stirling Garden, celebrating the very best of seasonal British produce and exceptional artisan suppliers.

From rare roast beef by , antipasti by BELAZU (Bel-uh-zoo), and gin-cured trout from , to ’nduja Scotch eggs made with Cobble Lane Cured ’nduja, served alongside London sourdough and finished with the timeless pairing of British strawberries & cream. 🍓

On 26th April, we had the honour of welcoming two incredible charities, Age UK and Teenage Cancer Trust, along with their inspiring marathon runners.

A huge congratulations to every runner — your determination, resilience, and unity for such meaningful causes was truly motivating to witness.

At Prince Philip House, our spaces adapted seamlessly to the occasion, offering flexible layouts that created a comfortable and elegant setting for post-marathon recovery. Runners were welcomed by friends and family to relax, refuel, and celebrate their achievement together.

With the terrace bathed in glorious sunshine, it was the perfect backdrop to reflect, reconnect, and recharge.
