Five of our girls are heading to Exeter College over the next few weekends for their England U18 Player Development Group (PDG) assessments!

Estella & Faye kick things off this weekend, with Mabel, Leah & Ruby starting their assessments next weekend.

This is a HUGE opportunity for the girls to go out there, play their rugby, test themselves against some of the best young players around and show the England pathway what they can do. 👏

And yes… we’re sure there will be a few nerves! 😅 But that’s what these days are all about getting outside your comfort zone, putting yourself out there and seeing what you can do.

Whatever happens over the next few weekends, getting to this stage is something to be incredibly proud of. 💚

This season, Jake Newman has made the step up from our Colts into senior men’s rugby and he’s absolutely flying! ✈️

His first game for the senior men came in our pre-season friendly against Clifton, where Jake marked the occasion by scoring his first try for the senior team! 🙌

We’re sure it’s the first of many. 👀🏉

Congratulations, Jake! A brilliant start to your senior rugby journey, and we’re looking forward to seeing what the rest of the season brings.

A BIG THANK YOU TO OUR VOLUNTEERS! ☝💫

A huge thank you to Lee, Mark and Moose for all their hard work over the last few weeks, extending our cellar area at the rear of the clubhouse. 👏

Thanks to their time, skills and hard work, we now have:

🍺 More space to store beer
🦺 A safer working environment for our staff
🏉 An improved area behind the scenes at the clubhouse

We’re incredibly lucky to have volunteers like these three who are willing to give up their time to help make Chew Valley RFC a better club for everyone.

The RFU has delayed the start of the senior league season, meaning our first league fixtures will now take place on the weekend of 26th & 27th September.

We’ve got a big opening weekend ahead, with all four senior teams in action! 🏉💚

💚 VOLUNTEERS NEEDED AT CHEW VALLEY RFC 💚

Our club wouldn’t be what it is without the amazing volunteers who give their time behind the scenes and we’re looking for more members of the Chew Valley community to get involved!

We’re asking for just ONE OR TWO HOURS A MONTH. That’s it! Every hour makes a difference and helps keep our club running, welcoming and ready for everyone. 🏉

There are lots of ways you can help, including:

🪑 Set up & clear up
🧹 Clubhouse tidy up
