Artificial flowers have had a bad name for a long time, as a florist who adores flowers, I too disliked them for a long time.
So why am I now selling them?
For me they are a different material to work with, I love floristry, whether that is with fresh, dried or artificial flowers and foliage.
I struggle with the use of plastic for many reasons, however I am also acutely aware that the fresh flower industry is not without fault and also uses vast resources. However, like fresh flowers, I also believe that artificial flowers can have a place.
Artificial flowers are not for everyone, but they are ideal for people, who for whatever reason, are unable to get to their loved one’s resting place as much as they would like. They get the peace of mind knowing that when they are unable to visit that it still looks nice and fresh. That their place for reflection with their special person looks cared for.
With the increase in heatwaves, most likely being the new normal, it means that wedding parties can be sure their flowers won’t wilt or die in the heat.
Weddings are expensive, artificial flowers offer the opportunity to purchase well in advance of the day, meaning easier budgeting. They can be easily stored and transported anywhere.
Artificial flowers come in several different grades, so, like fresh flowers it is possible to create beautiful pieces for all budgets…the chosen flowers will be in season all year!
After your wedding, you can keep the flowers as a keepsake, or sell them on to recoup some of your wedding expenses.
They are allergy friendly, long lasting and these days, incredibly realistic. While fresh flowers are always wonderful, so are a lot of artificial flowers now!
