This brand new hank from Punk Rock Unicorn Yarns at The Yarnery is tdf.

My lovely friend Lynda who genuinely makes all of our knitting dreams come true during our Afternoon Purlers sessions at the shop knitted this sample using KnitProQuo’s pattern the Fun Fair Shawl.

Use less than one skein and wrap your neck in PURE JOY!

I mentioned a while ago during a class that I’d love to cover my shop sign in crochet flowers…

Rosie, one of my incredibly delightful and selfless Thursday evening Hookers made three floral garlands for me to display outside the shop just because. She crocheted each flower individually and added them to a crocheted strip so they would stay in place.

How GORGEOUS?!

Is she not everything and MORE?

Meet Claire! She joined the Tuesday Evening Hookers some time ago to get some help with a blanket kit she had been gifted. Fast forward a year or so and she’s not only making her own clothing but she’s mastered amigurumi and taught her equally as talented children how to crochet too.

Here she is modelling a hexi hooked to perfection with a cake of ombré YarnArt Flowers that I had in stock at The Yarnery a little while ago.

This is the proof you needed that handmade never goes out of fashion.

Ok I’m really over excited about this one… 🐈

I’ve had lots of messaging asking for another Cattie workshop for those that can’t make International Cat Day on August 8th

Join me at The Yarnery on July 25th to learn how to crochet WOMANWALKINGAWIRE’s Cat Face Granny Square.

As some of you might know I have a MASSIVE craft crush on Christine and I LIVE for the release of each of her new patterns. I’ve tested a few of her recent works prior to release and find the way she designs and writes to be super thorough and accessible. I am THRILLED to be collaborating with her across the pond to bring the Cat Face in to your lives.

This workshop includes a printed copy of WomanWalkingAWire’s Cat Face Granny Square pattern and a digital forever copy so you can access it from your Ravelry accounts at any time. All of the yarn for your squares will be provided on the day - we will be working with Rico Design’s Ricorumi Cottons in your choice of colours. I will guide you through the process and we can discuss ideas of what you can make with your finished squares as we hook! I made a bag and I didn’t regret it 💅🏻

This event is strictly limited to 9 people and we will run for slightly longer than normal so we all have time to create.

Basic crochet knowledge is essential 😽

🌸 Another wonderful workshop yesterday with The Yarnery Hookers 🌸

We worked from Li Li’s Crochet Flower Bouquet book, which everyone got to take home with them, to create our own wired blooms. Three of these workshops are already sold out but there are some spaces still available on Saturday July 4th for anyone that would like to come and make with us! (Basic crochet knowledge is essential for this one!)

Yesterday I had the absolute PLEASURE of meeting Simone and Sheelagh, my new forever yarn friends!

The universe threw them both my way for the love of PRU! Simone usually goes back home to Germany to get her haul but now she can visit The Yarnery, only 28 minutes from her home (we learnt a lot about each other) to get her Punk Rock Unicorn fix 🦄

They came in sporting their gorgeous handmade Cumulus tee and Ranunculus makes (obvs made with PRU Yarns) and both looking GLORIOUS!

AND I even got to try out some of my new German skills on Simone who said I was sehr gut! 🤓

Yesterday felt like such an exceptionally good day as a Yarn Shop. I saw so many of my lovely regulars, taught two classes, met LOTS of brand new faces and was even introduced to a fabulous self taught nine year old crochet fanatic looking to expand her knowledge (and stash!)

Thank you so much to this incredible community for enriching my life and filling my days with fibery goodness. It means everything to me. Ev er y thing.
