Since we opened all those years ago, it’s been our privilege every single time you’ve chosen to dine with us.
Over those years, to many people, we’ve been the ever present in their lives. From birthdays, to christenings, our lovely little pub has seen it all. For you to choose us for such monumental events in your life, we cannot thank you enough.
Without your loyal patronage, we wouldn’t have been able to become the amazing family friendly pub that we’re so proud of.

In response to the challenging economic environment, we have decided to repurpose The White Horse as event space in 2023 and beyond.
The venue will be available to hire for corporate events, weddings, parties and private hire and will continue to open for our successful seasonal events such as Christmas and of course Chester race days.
The restaurant will close on New Year's Day and will reopen for events in January 2023. All guests with reservations from 1st January onwards, will be contacted to confirm the cancellation of their booking and a refund of deposit. We will not be taking any further bookings for the period until New Year’s Day. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
Thank you to our customers for their continued support and a big thank you to our brilliant and talented staff who work hard all year round to deliver consistently high standards and quality customer service. We intend to maintain those high standards in the future in the restaurant's new function.

The White Horse ‘Pub on the Course’ is uniquely located at Chester Racecourse in the heart of the historic city centre of Chester.
Visiting customer can sit back and relax in the cosy, rustic interior, featuring botanical floral arrangements, white-washed tables and log fires.
Our relaxed family-friendly venue is the perfect setting to enjoy some mouth-watering seasonal dishes. Our menus always have something on offer to tickle all taste-buds.
For adults, dine on light bites, stone baked pizzas and sharing nibbles, along with comforting, seasonal dishes using locally sourced produce such as crispy Cenarth brie fritters with red onion jam, pan roasted cod with duchess potatoes, creamed leeks, baby spinach and Morecambe Bay shrimps and rhubarb and ginger crumble for dessert.
Children will have the chance to show some culinary creativity with their ‘create your own’ pizza selection, alongside a host of other favourites, such as fish & chips with beans or peas and penne pasta.
The fun doesn’t stop with the food either, we offer free WIFI and there is plenty to keep the little ones interested with the nautical themed outdoor play area – allow them to captain one of the different sized ships and sail the Roodee!
We’re dog friendly too, should you wish to bring all members of the family along.
