Cheshire Pony Parties

Cheshire Pony Parties Professionally organised, engaging pony and unicorn parties, experiences and holiday fun & educator in stunning peaceful orchard venue Amanda Keech Pony Expert!

Amanda is a life long horse lover with over 40 years of horse ownership experience. "As a pony mad child I dreamt of Father Christmas leaving me a pony at the bottom of my bed on Christmas day. Whilst that dream never materialised, I had riding lessons from the age of five and at eleven, a chance visit to a distant cousin resulted in us taking possession of an orphaned foal. That was the beginning

of a delightful association with a number of ponies and horses, including pony holidays, carriage driving, competing and breeding my own foals." Having children brought little ponies into the mix and with them, Amanda started one of the first pony party businesses in the UK, Cheshire Pony Parties in 2008. She estimates she's entertained almost 2000 children (and adults!) with her ponies. Amanda is known for engaging children both as an entertainer at her pony parties but also as an educator - she has been praised for her educational chocolate workshops in primary schools. She holds the British Horse Society Stable Management qualification and is a fully qualified accountant and tax adviser too! Her ponies are happy, healthy fluffy and friendly and are inspected regularly by Cheshire West and Cheshire as part of Amanda's license. Amanda holds the top 5* licence, number 25/AAL/RS/549913

Her orchard setting is stunning and has been described as a 'photographer's dream' by a professional photographer. It regularly stops parents in their tracks.

We take heat and horses seriously, offering shelter, soaked hay, worked in early mornings, sometimes water with salt in, sometimes apple bobbing, cold shower for old/thick coated/hot horses when REALLY hot. ( I do have a paddling pool to set up for them too!)
I’d love to offer water misters like these too- the horses seem to really enjoy them!

Ah and more lovely feedback from Sunday’s party.
The adults on Saturday’s party were also blown away, describing the party as ‘incredible’.
Makes all the preparation beforehand worth it - not just brushing the unicorns but jet washing the marquee, mowing the lawn, poo picking the orchard, trimming hedges, fighting the w**d battle as well as all the general care of the ponies, land and props/equipment- the list goes on!
If you’d like a party brochure, or would like to come for some unicorn fun with 1-4 children, please get in touch.

Yesterday we had 4 lovely children visit to celebrate a little girl’s 3rd birthday, joined by her 6-year-old brother and 5-year-old twin cousins for a unicorn party 🦄

At the start, one of the twin boys seemed a little unsure and not especially interested, and I wondered if maybe it just wasn’t really his thing — which is absolutely fine! Sometimes it’s hard to know if a child is shy, uncertain or simply not ready, so I didn’t push him and just let him have the space to decide for himself.

As the activity went on, there were lots of questions, chatter and smiles as the children groomed and decorated their unicorn with ribbons and stickers, then rode around the obstacle trail collecting goodies and spotting all of my ornamental wild animals around the orchard.

When it was time for the final gifts, both boys surprised me by asking for a unicorn bracelet each — some boys love them, some don’t 😊

Just before they left, the twin boy told me he thought the activity had been amazing and that he wanted to come back. That was lovely enough to hear, but then his mum said she was amazed he had joined in at all because he is actually frightened of ponies.

WOW — that completely blew me away.

There is something so special about helping children build confidence around ponies, I’m sure helped by our peaceful orchard setting with our calm, tiny, fluffy ponies 💕

A little update about Demi
If you’ve followed our socials or visited us you’ll be aware that my very gentle pony Demi has had quite a few teeth out over the last few years.
He had even more dental work in February and now only has a few teeth left, which means eating (and keeping weight on) has become a bit of a challenge for him.
Because of this, Demi is having a break from parties until he’s back in tip top condition and I feel he’s happy to step back into parties.
Even after 50 years of horse ownership this is something new to me so it’s a bit of trial and error.
I’m now testing him on a carefully planned feeding routine with multiple small meals a day, daily time away from the speedy eaters, just with his oldest friend Poppy with plenty of hay and access to longer grass, although I don’t think he actually eats much grass.

This will not impact existing bookings and will be discussed with potential future bookings if relevant.
