Chester has a stylish new addition to its food and drink scene, with Café Barbette officially opening its doors in Exchange Square last week.

Created by the team behind Maray, the new all-day venue takes inspiration from the relaxed café culture of Paris, bringing French-inspired small plates, carefully selected wines, cocktails and music together in one beautiful space.

One of the standout features is the interactive wine discovery wall, where you can sample and pour your own wines from a curated selection of around 30 bottles by the glass. Alongside that, expect seasonal sharing dishes, Parisian classics with a modern twist, and a drinks list designed for long, leisurely afternoons that turn into late evenings.

The atmosphere doesn't stop with the food and drink either. From Wednesday through to Sunday, Café Barbette hosts vinyl DJ sets spanning disco, soul, funk, hip hop and more, making it as much a destination for evening drinks as it is for lunch or a weekend catch-up.
