Anyone who follows me, even better if you have been to a Race Night before, have any experience on EPOS systems, card machines etc ?

Reason is last night I ran a race night organised by, and attended by, Uni students, who I have to say were fantastic and no black mark against them – BUT they just weren’t used to cash.

We had a scenario where some things were being paid by card but the bets still needed paying by cash – there was little cash about and (again not being derogatory) they didn’t grasp how to help with the change situation. I had no change all night, then at the final race had £100’s of £1 coins which I mostly changed at the bar.

I think this is a sign of things to come if honest, so looking at how I can incorporate, or design a new system to take card payments.

I do have a few ideas which I won’t make public, the main obstacle are the fees – especially to refund people.

However, if you do have, or know anyone with experience with EPOS and Card Machines please let me know.
