A wreath basket filled with roses and pops of British flowers for a much loved Aunt. The basket can be taken away by the family and enjoyed at home and replanted with summer bedding plants.

COUNTDOWN TO RHS CHELSEA: We’re rooting for our friends at The Farewell Flowers Directory as they get ready to stage the first ever display of plastic-free funeral floristry in the 112 year history of . They are taking funeral flowers out of the shadows and into the spotlight and we can’t wait to see how they get on.

We are proud members of The Farewell Flowers Directory, which is a not-for-profit company founded last year with the aims of removing plastic floral foam and single-use plastic from funeral floristry and of showing how beautiful and personal funeral flowers can be.
The RHS Chelsea Flower Show opens on 19th May with Press Day and the Royal visit.

Where ever possible I am now constructing my funeral wreath bases from straw covered in moss, a skill I was taught at college, it makes the wreaths very sustainable and light weight. The straw also really holds the water helping to keep all those dainty blooms fresh.

Sharing these photos of a funeral that I did a few weeks ago. Met with the family in their home and chatted about their wishes for flowers for P, it was the request of is his wife for strong reds, purple and pinks. Flowers for the church were re purposed at the celebration of life and small posy bowls added to the tables, the flowers in these were given away at the end of the day. All made without floral foam and love.

A posie arrangement made this week, these are suitable for friends and relatives of the deceased to send as tribute. This one was made on a bamboo biodegradable disposable plate, moss tied on with a natural twine before adding floral materials making the whole arrangement compostable.
Pretty on the eye and plastic free.

A funeral tribute from last week, request was for mums favourite colour blue to be used in shades and white roses.
I had one of the most wonderful phone call a couple of days later from ‘A’ daughter of the deceased to thank me for the flowers and to tell me how wonderful she and the rest of the funeral party thought they were, and giving them away at then end of the wake brought tears to the eyes of the recipients.

This time last week we were adding some extra enchanted forest floral arrangements to the Queen Mary Suite at Garrard ahead of their Father Christmas weekend.
Apparently all who attend had been very good this year.

Love a pink and green combo, and so pretty for Christmas. No more wreath orders being taken for this year, order book still open for mantle arrangements, table centres and Christmas bouquets for delivery after the 17th December.
