This place is incredible although I still prefer to do every part of my 3D silk flowers by hand! 🌺🌹💐🌻

Happy to be part of this again. If you’re going to the Lit Fest do pop in to see everyone’s work (or come along anyway). I have a selection of new embroidered jewellery on show as well as a new range of 3D flowers and printed cushions with images of my embroidery.

One last image: a close up of the embroidered neckpiece and earrings over the upcycled bodice front. I wanted to mix weeds and wildflowers to show how beautiful they all are.

So this is the final set up. I used an old box frame that my lovely Dad made for me about 40 years ago with an upcycled bodice front given to me by a friend, an embroidered neckpiece and earrings, an embroidered daisy chain and a selection of 3D ferns, ivy, dandelions, buttercups and my stump work dog rose

A few finished components for my entry including ferns, mossy stones and dandelions surrounding my silk shaded stump work dog rose. One of the reasons I like entering the is to stretch myself creatively and learn new techniques so I taught myself silk shading stumpwork which basically involves stitching each petal and leaf over wire and then assembling it into a 3D rose, extremely time consuming but hugely satisfying 💕🌸
