Village Fete this afternoon on Freeman Field behind the Village Hall from 2pm until 6pm, free entry.
Don’t forget to buy your raffle tickets, amongst the great prizes is a Daylesford Hamper, that has to be worth a flutter for £1.00!

Saturday 20th, weather 24c, gentle breeze, perfect weather for a Village Fete.
2pm start, fire engine will be there at 2pm, stalls will be up and running, dog show arena prepared, hog roast on the go, bar open, Wine Club bar open with prosecco perfectly chilled, tea and cakes ready in the Pavilion, ice cream van, strawberries and cream , police car, lots of games and so much more.

Gotherington Village Fete & Dog Show is just under a week away!!!

So many of the wonderful village groups are coming together to bring you a great selection of games, stalls, cakes, music and competitions. We have a cafe, hog roast, bar, ice-creams, strawberries & cream, but now YOU can get involved by entering our DOG SHOW and BAKE OFF competition!!

DOG SHOW

Dog Show classes are listed on the poster below, just bring your dog along to register from 3pm, judging will start at 3.30pm with the 'Waggiest Tail'!!! A huge thank you to our resident vet Hannah, who is running the show. All entry fees will be going towards the local charity 'STREETVET' who Hannah supports.

BAKE OFF

This year's BAKE OFF has a selection of categories for you to choose from - if you would like a copy of the full entry details you can email [email protected] or pop into Gotherington Stores to grab a copy. For the individual cake categories you will need to provide 12 cakes, the best 4 will be judged with the remaining 8 being sold in the Pavillion Cafe.

This year's showstopper cakes if you fancy a go are to make a birthday cake fit for the King, as we celebrate the King's birthday; and for families we'd love you to have a go at making your own caterpillar cake!!! We won't be cutting your caterpillars so that you can take them home to enjoy, therefore you can use a cheeky bought Swiss roll for the body! Have LOTS of fun with your decorations!!!

All the cakes can be viewed (and sampled!) at the John Woolley Pavillion by the tennis courts from 2pm. All entries must be in by 3pm, judging is at 4pm.

Happy dog grooming, trick training and baking everyone, we look forward to seeing you all next Saturday!!!!

The Village Fete is just two weeks away and proceedings are going well and it is just the weather we do not have any control over!
We do still have room for anyone wishing to have a stall, whether it be arts and crafts, bric-a-brac, handmade items or anything else that you would like to exhibit and sell.
No entry fee and all funds retain by the stall holder.. please have a think and pass on to others who might be interested.

We are having our last gathering on Thursday 11th June at 19.30 at the RRB to go over the plans for the Fete on the 20th and chat over any concerns that anyone might have.
Linda has been working on the layout plan on Freeman Field showing the locations for everyone.
We hope that everyone involved in the Fete will pop down to RRB tomorrow after which we can use the next few days to ensure all is well.
Looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow evening.
