Church sound is its own specialism.

Autumn is one of the busiest parts of our year, and the reasons are often similar — systems that have grown over time, equipment that's been in place for years, and technologies such as hearing loops that haven't been reviewed recently.

A system a volunteer can run on a Sunday morning without training. Speech that's clear in every pew, not just the front six rows. Kit that respects the building it's going into.

We've done this work across Essex and beyond.

Every church is different, but the questions we come across are often very similar.

If you'd like us to take a look, we're always happy to help. 01245 206 206

If your company Christmas do is more than drinks in the office this year — a marquee, a venue takeover, an awards night — here's a friendly heads up from the production side. December gets booked in September and October.

We supply sound, lighting, staging, dance floors and screens for Christmas events across Essex, from company parties to charity balls, at venues we know well.

Get the date and the venue settled, then give us a ring on 01245 206 206 and we'll sort the technical side while there's still room in the diary.

Happy Birthday to Tom 🎉

Behind every busy week is someone making sure the right kit is in the right place, the warehouse is organised and the team can head out to jobs knowing everything is ready to go. That's Tom.

Hard-working, dependable and always willing to help, he's also one of the people who keeps everyone smiling and makes Spotlight Sound a great place to work.

We hope you have a fantastic day, Tom.

A question for Essex pubs, bars and restaurants heading into the busiest trading season of the year. Does your venue sound as good as it looks?

We've installed and upgraded sound systems at hospitality venues including The Fatling in Hornchurch, Hackers in Billericay and Walkabout in Colchester, and further afield at Rosie's nightclub in Chester.

Hospitality systems live a hard life. Heat, moisture, ten years of Friday nights, and the one member of staff who understood the mixer leaving in March. The result is usually a system running at half of what it could do, with the room's atmosphere paying for it.

If that sounds familiar, sort it before December trading rather than during it. We do site visits and honest advice on whether kit needs repairing, adjusting or replacing. 01245 206 206.

Today marks an anniversary for Gav, our Events Manager, here at Spotlight Sound.

Every team has someone people naturally turn to when things get busy, plans change or a calm head is needed. Gav is very much one of those people.

A trusted part of the team, always willing to help, and a big reason so many projects run as smoothly as they do.

We're grateful for everything he brings to Spotlight Sound and look forward to another busy year ahead.

That's a wrap on BizzFest 2026.

We supplied the screens, sound and staging, and enjoyed being a local business in a room full of them.

Essex has a proper business community and events like this are where you notice it. Good to see so many of you there.

Our installation team is currently working with churches upgrading their sound systems. It's one of the busiest parts of our autumn.

Church sound is a specialism, and it's more about people than equipment. A system a volunteer can run on a Sunday morning without training. Speech that's clear in every pew. An induction loop that genuinely works for hearing aid users. And kit that respects the building it's going into.

We've done this work across the region — St Mary's Church in Great Dunmow and the Salvation Army in Leigh-on-Sea are both on our website.

If your church's system is temperamental then we do site visits and honest advice. 01245 206 206.

"Gav and the Spotlight team done a terrific job for us at a recent Essex Football Association event at New Hall School in Chelmsford."

That review came in earlier this year, after we provided AV, screens and a sound system for an Essex FA event at one of Chelmsford's best known schools.

Awards evening season is coming round again for clubs and associations across the county. Presentation nights are exactly the sort of event we handle — screens people can see, speeches people can hear, and a room that feels like an occasion.

If your club has a presentation night in the diary, give us a ring on 01245 206 206.

We're hiring, and this is a big role for us.

AV Project Manager, based in Chelmsford. £45,000–£55,000 depending on experience. Running installation projects from the first phone call through to finished handover — schools, churches, venues, bars and commercial premises across Essex.

It suits a senior AV engineer or technical project manager who is ready to own the whole job rather than one part of it.

The full advert is on LinkedIn and Indeed. If someone comes to mind, please pass it on to them. The best people usually come recommended.

Introducing the new home of Spotlight Sound after our summer at temporary premises.

Everything else stays the same: same team, same phone number (01245 206 206), same service for events and AV installations across Essex and beyond.

The racking's going up and the kettle already works, which is the important thing.
