Hobby sewing 😃. This is my lovely husband in a home made Fred Flintstones costume. As a family we went to the Brits end of season fancy dress party in Benidorm which is a lot of fun.

Now preparing to fly out to Lanzarote tomorrow for another short holiday. Hope to catch a last bit of sun before Christmas.

Custom dye fabric. Stove method.

How do you ensure both sleeves have the same level of ombre? Answer: tack both sleeves together and dye as one.

Does the process shrink the fabric. Answer: yes it can. To avoid problems cut roughly slightly larger than you need. Cut again to the correct size after the dye process

A good thing about being an adult skater is sometimes the perfect outfit for the event is already hiding in the wardrobe. Eloise pulled out a catsuit from 2018 for her Spin Jump Spiral at Lea Valley yesterday.

Those that follow solo ice dance will know this dress is Lily’s 2024 season free dance dress.
Striking in its black on black it’s the perfect costume for ‘Wednesday’ theme including Paint it Black.

Dress features princess seams front and back to give extra detail to this sheer costume. Lily wanted only Jet crystals . For added texture multiple crystal shapes were used galactic, Rivoli, Baguette, Pear and Round. So many different shapes with differing facets ensures maximum sparkle on a single colour theme.

Lily had a successful skate at Slough placing silver in Rhythm Dance and gold in Free Dance.

When Apple sent me her inspiration sketch and explained the relevance behind the details I knew this was a dress I wanted to create for her.
Her program tells a story of love, tragedy and grief. Life events so powerful she has written a book of poetry. Check out apple.com.uk for link to purchase.
Very little was changed from original sketch. The open back was changed to a teardrop and I managed to source Swarovski in Jet hematite in a range of shapes that provided the ultimate sparkle.
Finally everything came together in a performance of raw emotion in Silver Ladies 1 freeskate at Oberstdorf.
Well done beautiful lady, it was an honour to work with you
