However, many of my couples still want a few group photographs, quite often at the request of their family. I keep these sessions as quick and relaxed as possible, so everyone can get straight back to the conversations, canapés, and champagne.

Inspired by this glorious weather, here are some photographs from a summer wedding last year at the family home near Wymondham, Norfolk.

Some of the younger guests were in the pool when I arrived that morning, while the final touches were being put to the barn for the wedding breakfast and the grounds ahead of the outdoor ceremony.

At a small laid-back autumnal wedding in North London, this couple are lost in their own world. In awe of their brand new baby, time stops. The room is filled with the other guests enjoying their drinks and conversation... unaware.

Real moments like this are why I photograph weddings the way I do: watching, anticipating, paying attention.
