APPLICATIONS FOR THE PRIDE ART EXHIBITION 2026 ARE OPEN UNTIL 30 APRIL 2026!
art is back to facilitate the Pride Art Exhibition with Maidstone Pride for 2026! 🤩, we're also so lucky to be partnering with , the new Creative Hub on Gabriel's Hill.

We invite artists who want to explore and express what q***rness means to them — how it shapes their lives, relationships, and sense of self. This exhibition is about pride in all its forms: loud and defiant, quiet and tender, joyful, political, and deeply personal.

We welcome a wide range of creative practices, including film, painting, performance, music, and poetry. By bringing together different voices and disciplines, the exhibition creates a shared space where stories can be told, heard, and celebrated. It also offers emerging and underrepresented artists the opportunity to showcase their work, gain recognition, and connect with the local community in a supportive and affirming environment.

Following the great success of last year’s exhibition, we return with a renewed focus on the importance of pride and identity. This year, we aim to go deeper — not just celebrating visibility, but also highlighting meaning, connection, and the power of q***r expression to inspire, challenge, and unite.

✨ Our 2025... Sinister Stilettos

Sinister Stilettos is not even one whole year old since its launch, but it has been one wild ride!

1) Since we started planning in mid-late 2024, we officially launched in March 2025!

2) We held a Drag Wig Competition with Arctic Couture, alongside a livestream, and we are so grateful for everyone who took part. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for more giveaways in the future!

3) Sinister Stilettos became an official partner of Maidstone Pride 2025

4) We hosted our amazing Build-A-Queen event (thank you to & for letting us use the space and providing event support!) and we also performed at the Big Gay Out 2025

5) We hosted the Wet Dreams 18+ party with Maidstone Pride, which raised money for Maidstone Pride and brought in profit for Apartel / The Grange Moor Hotel.

6) We walked with the in .pride 2025

7) Malachite and Lucie became the new chairs of Maidstone Pride!

8) We were part of the Fun Palaces 2025 event with The Mall (featuring a cameo from Sophia Stardust)

STATEMENT: The Family Blue & Connected Individuals.

Sinister Stilettos formally announces an end to any and all current and future working relationships with The Family Blue and its members. All attempts at mediation have been made without successful resolution.

Our statement pertains to The Family Blue (TFB) as a drag house, specifically relating to the actions of:
BlueHairSugarHypo (Blue) (also Owner of ImagesByBlue)
Nik Nak (Nik)
Miss Winnie Chester (Winnie)

** CONTEXT **

The Family Blue (prev. House Of Blue) is a drag house with connections in Essex and Maidstone. Despite being made aware of other situations involving members of The Family Blue, we won’t be commenting publicly on incidents that do not involve us.

We had previously connected positively with TFB due to the shared values of building positive communities and conducting ourselves professionally. Lucie & Blue had previously discussed collaboration opportunities between TFB and Sinister Stilettos. We have also previously extended an invitation for TFB to perform at one of our events.

Over the past year, we have been made aware of two incidents of attempts by members of TFB to negatively impact the reputation of Sinister Stilettos, its members, and also artists in our local scene. Both of these incidents were led by Miss Winnie Chester, and both times we directly approached Blue regarding this behaviour and requested that they investigate the situation as they are the ‘mother’ of the house. On both occasions, we were assured by Blue that the situations “will be sorted”.

We use Instagram.com and the Instagram app, our screenshots are from both. Some screenshots may require zooming in.

As q***r and disabled individuals, we know firsthand the difficulties of navigating a world not built for us.

The decision to release a statement (with evidence) has not been taken lightly. It is the result of multiple attempts to resolve our issues privately.

Sinister Stilettos and team members will not answer any further questions or comments about this statement or the events disclosed.

We are already missing all of our amazing audiences from Maidstone pride!

But don't you worry your little head's, we'll be back soon enough! We just wanted to thank everyone for their support this year so far! We couldn't have done it without your love and support!

If you are wondering where to find us next, we will be marching in the parade .pride so make sure you come along!

We had such a fabulous night, a huge thank you to all the fantastic performers of wet dreams, our amazing audience, our amazing stage and tech crew and the Apartell staff!

We are blessed to have such a huge impact and success with our biggest event yet! Hopefully we get to bring the party back next year!😬
