It's nearly prom season, these are a couple of images from a commissioned prom shoot I did.

So much time and money goes into hair, outfits and accessories for proms. Photographers at proms are excellent at what they do (I've done it) but you don't always get the time to get images like these. Hiring a photographer for before your prom or even after your prom ensures you get portraits that capture the moment perfectly and that last a lifetime.

It's been a while since I've posted, I'm still here lurking about and these are a few from a recent cake smash for Leo's 1st birthday.

I think we all had fun.

........and then following the cake smash it was time for some clean-up

So my trip to Scotland wasn't all seascapes and waterfalls, here's a woodland scene that I walked through on the way to a waterfall in the RSPB wood of Cree.

Beautiful place

I recently had a trip to Scotland and dug my camera out. Over the next few posts I will share some of the images from the trip.

This first pic is from a visit to Garliston. Hope you like and let me know if you have visited these places and what you think of them.

Headshot Day for a Local Business!

First impressions count – and here’s why professional photography matters for your business.

In today’s digital world, an online presence is essential for any business. Whether it’s through social media, your website, or business directories, the way your business presents itself visually plays a major role in how potential clients perceive you.

That’s where professional photography comes in.

A polished, high-quality image builds trust, communicates professionalism, and helps create a positive first impression. On the other hand, low-quality or unprofessional images can drive potential customers away before you even have a chance to connect with them.

Think about it—when a user lands on your website or profile and sees outdated or poor-quality images, they’re more likely to leave without making an enquiry or purchase. In a world overflowing with choices, you need to stand out for the right reasons.

Professional headshots and imagery reflect credibility, attention to detail, and trustworthiness—three key ingredients that influence whether a visitor decides to engage with your business.

So, if you want your business to make a strong, lasting impression online, investing in professional photography isn’t just a good idea—it’s essential.

Waiting for the ghost bus, ghost train would of sounded better but it's a bus stop! so bus it is.

The real story is I was doing long exposures in Castleford and a couple came and wanted their pictures taking and with it being a long exposure this is the effect you get, but they didn't know that 🤣🤣🤣 I do like the image though so I am glad they did jump in.

Millennium Bridge in Castleford, I've been and photographed this bridge and the weir underneath lots of times so coming up with different angles that I haven't done before is a challenge. This is a new one for me, I used the hand rail for some foreground interest, the queen's mill and the curve if the bridge as the main focal point and the bridge curves round and takes you out of the image at the other side to give a pleasing well balanced image. IMO anyway 🤣
