Wedding number 2 last Saturday was down in gorgeous deepest darkest Devon and boy was it another corker. Possibly my fave canapé selection of the summer (frickles !!!!) plus a lovely relaxed garden party vibe and DIY decor to die for. 10/10 from us, one day we’ll start taking good photos I promise x

- fried pickles with chive dip (like you’re watching the superbowl but fancy)
- onion bhaji, mint and coriander chutney
- tofu & mushroom gyoza
Unpictured but still delicious - lamb kofte with tzatziki, pan con tomate + fried chicken with tarragon mayo and heritage tomato 🤌

I know I know, MORE grazing! Last week we had the treat and added logistical element of taking SK on tour out of the West Country. Emily and Leigh’s guests in Cambridgeshire had the perfect garden party spritz & grazing hour before sitting down to butcher’s porchetta, earl grey brined bbq chicken, crispy pots (obvs), sumac and lemon slaw and a charred courgette, heritage tom, mozz and pangrattato number.

We then looked after guests on Sunday brunch with a restorative shakshuka buffet too!

Not to sound like the old lady I secretly am, but it’s honestly such a pleasure getting to spend our sunny summer Saturdays in people’s beautiful gardens! Getting so much joy from hanging out in hidden orchards and enjoying the best flowers mums and dads of brides and grooms can grow 💐🌿🌾

A post for all the bits which weren’t THAT tiramisu last Saturday! Guests absolutely demolished a big old grazing table (best way to keep hungry people happy all afternoon imo) alongside carnitas tostada with pico de gallo, and some very very delicious and unpictured burrata and bbq peach toasts. Sit down mains for 140 were platters of some really bloody good ancho chilli and lime bbq chicken, alongside a triple threat of mexican inspired salads:

- herby rice, black beans, roasted cauli, hibiscus pickled red onions 🫘
- heritage toms, bbq peach & corn, avo & coriander 🍅🥑
- grilled & marinaded peppers with crispy capers and lots of oregano 🌶️

Our classic festival burgers for evening food kept everyone going so they could party until the wee hours. Not sure I saw the bride or groom not on someone’s shoulders post about 8pm. Solid.

Yet another string to our Lavs’ bow is being an antiques whizz. And an excellent excuse to hoard hundreds of vintage plates is hiring them out to make your party tables look beautiful. For celebrations of up to about 90 we can do all the individual cutlery and crockery, and for any more than that we can provide the delightful platters for you to pass round the table with your nearest and dearest.

Another lovely day at Noah’s Pond Meadow for J & B on Saturday. Yeah, sure, you might be thinking - why don’t these guys take better photos? Well the answer is the reality of the behind the scenes of making lunch for 120 in a tent in the rain isn’t actually too glamorous and also we’re busy busy busy. BUT the lamb was banging (thank you bbq chef Titus) the canapés rolled out quickly and deliciously, and all their guests were happy and dry in the lovely tipis.

- Lavs’ mum’s classic flamin’ lamb served with salsa verde and pickled cherries 🍒

- Chorizo croquettes with rosemary aioli and a shower of manchego 🧀

- Prawn and ginger gyozas with chilli crisp 🥟

- Carnitas tostada with guac and peach salsa 🍑

- Spring onion and green bean pakora with tamarind & coconut chutneys 🥥

Also look how cute our tallest and smallest members of the team are! We had a magnificent team as always, our superstars ⭐️

We really love these shots from F & T’s big day at last month! The deep fried oyster mushroom canapé are a personal favourite atm, and the pink colour scheme was so good. Charred spring onions & very minty pea tabbouleh in there too. Vegan and gluten free but still very naughty brownies. Cute little pic of lemon possets with a pink peppercorn crumble which some of our team might not have bothered with spoons for! The joys of serving in lemons 🍋 and then they go straight in the compost!

Our summer is looking absolutely rammo but we do have a couple of gaps in September you could squeeze into if you’re planning a big or little celebration. 2026 also filling up scarily fast so this is your sign to get in touch! X

A year since this very magical long table lunch with the best view in the west… don’t you wish this is what your bank holiday looked like? Tables groaning with food and rosé, Campari spritz on tap, monmouthshire mountains to gaze at. Perfect x

Glorious celebration in Monmouthshire on the weekend! Proper venue, proper dinner, proper party. Hector’s guests enjoyed canapés in the setting sun before a heritage tommy, ricotta, coppa & wild garlic pistachio pesto starter on some very gorgeous tables. Platters of sobrasada, fennel and caper chicken followed with (obvs) crispy potatoes, yummy courgettes, beans and broccoli to share.

A little moment of appreciation for these 190 elderflower panna cotta (panna cotte? Italian friends?) with gingery rhubarb last weekend. Light enough you can still throw some shapes on the dance floor after, but decadent enough to know you’ve had a proper pud. 100% worth a little jog through the village to nab the bit of elderflower we’d spotted that morning. A lovely spring time one! 🌱✨💫

Squeezed in a couple of tastings last week just to confuse ourselves… switching from cooking for two people to 92 is a fun little bit of mental gymnastics!

We are really loving using these napkins - the colours and patterns are SO good and they’re beautifully made. Hire for weddings and events, presents for your mother in law you never know what to get, or just for feeling all fancy at home - we love them !

Our fave aub veggie main you’ll be seeing a lot of - roasted then topped with caramelised onions, good white beans and a tom and caper salsa
Local leaves with pickled shallots, seasonal greens and loadsa yummy stuff x

The most beautiful sunshiney day on Saturday for the first wedding of the season! R & P’s guests enjoyed canapés in the garden followed by a very delicious Italian-ish menu that we obvs didn’t get any pics of cause we were so busy looking after them.

Personal highlights of spring onion bhajis, low and slow pork shoulder smattered in herbs and lemon juice, tart tatin for veggies and THOSE TULIPS! Also Dennis the old dog in the cone of shame following the bride down the aisle. Lovely. X
