Sunflower Kitchen is an events catering company based in Somerset, capable of anything from intimate alfresco dining to large weddings or crew catering for festivals & film shoots.

A very sweet birthday party last weekend for us. Some fave canapés - goats cheese and peach toasts, gochujang pork and mushy arancini - followed by plated starters of home hot smoked Mere Trout. Platters of steak in the MOST delicious cafe de Paris butter, along with pesto potato salad, heritage tommy salad and really good Wild Garden leaves with lots of yummy bits. Burnt basque cheesecake with blackcurrant compote and one of the guests doing tricks in his biplan

Big bowls of choccy mouse and tiny pavlovas to accompany bride-baked wedding cake! Can’t seem to get away from that steak with chimichurri atm but I’m not complaining. The best Wild Garden leaves with charred leeks and green beans, August deliciousness. Our lovely gals with a very good canapé selection, plus our mismatched vintage china making the tables look very cute. Dreamy!

As per usual, got loads of pics of canapés and not a single one of mains - but they happened, we promise!! Scroll for Bailey and Esme’s summer solstice wedding menu at Chew Valley Weddings. Banger of a menu, banger of a party. Very lovely to get to work with our faves Bloody Mary Jane’s on this one! And just look at how big that pan of prawns is! Wow!

Aaaaaand another blinder to round off a very busy May! is such a magical place in the sunshine and the newly extended dining area is *so good*. Who doesn’t want a sharing feast under the vines and wisteria?

Absolutely gutted we only got a vid of the veggie puds, because the perfect wobble on the rhubarb jelly & vanilla panna cotta made me very happy. Elite canapé selection, a whole heap of BBQ steak with chimichurri, delicious salads, fun in the woods for team and guests x

Another lovely day at Noah’s Pond with the team! Grazing table with chorizo croquettes, rump steak canapés, dips and sticks and lots of yummy stuff to start. Then shawarma spiced chicken, wild rice tabbouleh, dreamy tomato salad with feta and hazelnut dukkah, and of course crispy potatoes. Basque cheesecake for the bride and groom to cut as their cake, while everyone else got theirs delivered pre sliced and ready to go! Lovely team, lovely guests, lovely menu, lovely sunshine ☀️

Wedding numero due last Saturday was another dreamy one! Guests kept cool in the woods for canapés and drinks, then a proper party with their bellies lined with yumminess.

Canapés included gildas and steak tartare with truffle mayo. Earl grey brined BBQ chicken with fennel and orange, grilled hispi with muhammara and giant couscous, caponata with mozzarella and orzo pesto salad with tenderstem and courgette. Then Cheddar strawbs macerated in elderflower on almond pavs for pud!

The couple’s fave cheese toasties of apricot, thyme and goats cheese along with some cheddar and chilli jam ones to keep them all going on the dance floor. Whew! What a weekend!

A very yummy breeze at kept us cool (ish) on Saturday for wedding number one of the weekend. Excellent canapé selection - prawn and ginger gyozas the winner for the team - a healthy amount of smooth jazz sax keeping the guests entertained, then a full feast. Dips, flatbreads, gozleme (stuffed Turkish flatbreads) followed by slow cooked falling apart lamb shoulder with salsa verde, crispy potatoes, salad, BBQ courgette with lots of yummy bits. Passionfruit, lime and mango pavs to finish, sausage baps to keep them going on the dance floor for later x

One of our favourite venues to work at, and a dreamy day all round!

Perfect weather for a perfect little wedding on Saturday! The barns at were looking glorious, swallows flying all over the place, and 50 very happy guests with a fully vegetarian menu.

- heritage tom salad with shallot & coriander seed crisp on a bed of tabbouleh (pre plate wipe obvs)
- seared halloumi and spiced aub with zhoug and date syrup
- glass of fizz waiting *just* before they all sat down
- perfect asparagus ready for dipping
- big ol veggie grazing on a slightly too big table
-courgette, leek, basil and burrata toasts
- start of the day job

Absolute humdinger of a day to start our wedding season! Beautiful garden with a beautiful marquee in, guests arrived at the bride’s family home for fizz and canapés under the wisteria and clematis in full bloom. Falling apart lamb, first of the asparagus and some very springy salads set them up for dancing and wedding cake. We had a great time, so did they 🪩✨✌️

LOOK we’re chefs not photographers! Last few lovely tastings before we start going to work for realsies again. Prepare yourselves for worse, more chaotic kitchen photos. We’re biting at the bit to be cooking in tents again. Excited for a very busy summer!
