A little moment of appreciation for these 190 elderflower panna cotta (panna cotte? Italian friends?) with gingery rhubarb last weekend. Light enough you can still throw some shapes on the dance floor after, but decadent enough to know you’ve had a proper pud. 100% worth a little jog through the village to nab the bit of elderflower we’d spotted that morning. A lovely spring time one! 🌱✨💫

The most beautiful sunshiney day on Saturday for the first wedding of the season! R & P’s guests enjoyed canapés in the garden followed by a very delicious Italian-ish menu that we obvs didn’t get any pics of cause we were so busy looking after them.

Personal highlights of spring onion bhajis, low and slow pork shoulder smattered in herbs and lemon juice, tart tatin for veggies and THOSE TULIPS! Also Dennis the old dog in the cone of shame following the bride down the aisle. Lovely. X

Look, we’re chefs not photographers ok? A motley bunch of photos from a very lovely weekend springing up in Bristol and Bruton! Still thinking about those nduja stuffed deep fried olives, and wish we’d got some photos of the mains (as usual). Think we converted a few tables into smoked mackerel and dolma lovers, which we love to hear 🧡

On Friday night we were lucky enough to use napkins which brought some gorgeous colour to our tables, and are a good cause! If you’re looking for napkin hire or to buy, these guys are the best!

Thanks for having us and ! Watch this space for info on more pop ups, once we’ve recovered from wedding season 🩷

And now, 20 weddings to go… see you on the other side x

NEXT WEEK! We’re really looking forward to celebrating Spring, popping up at and next weekend. We’re putting in the hard yards this week, researching (eating) all day long in Istanbul. Stuffing our faces with fresh mackerel straight out the Bosphorus is hard ok?

We’re sampling a lot of street food to help us finalise the details of the menu, but for mains -

Expect brined roasted chicken with a sweet, smoky tomato sauce and a cooling, zingy garlic yoghurt. Early broad beans and the best asparagus, with caramelised onions and nuts in the pilaf. And a couple of other treats we’ll decide on when we stumble across them here.

The puds are both absolute killers too, one banging choccy tart with a cute nod to Easter, and ofc there’s gotta be rhubarb right? Grown up rhubarb and custard trifle with some very delicious elements.

There’s still a few tables left so get in touch! Snap em up! Can’t wait to see you x

Hope you’re all soaking up this beautiful spring sunshine! Recent bits from us x

Ultimate bride and groom canapé selection - crab, chilli & lime cups, , mozz and herby bruschetta, mushroom arancini & confit garlic aioli and our absolute fave - tiny pork schnitzel with pickled cuke and dill and caper mayo!

Very grown up nod to Easter chocolate cornflake yumminess.

Using up our random in stock tins for jalepeno and peach jam.

Fresh mackers ready for smoking.

Stuffed olives ready for frying.

A very personal orange jelly inspired pud in development for a July wedding menu.

Last of these beauties 🍊🍊🍊

Story time! It’s Friday afternoon, I’m walking down Bruton high street, the bougiest little high street in the west, after some last minute truffle oil. Shouldn’t be a problem in a town that fancy, right? Wrong! I’d abandoned all hope when I bumped into me old mucker , who not only is a nice guy but his mum taught him to be a good sharer. I was soon on my way with a little jar of his good stuff. Thanks Matt! Mushroom arancini with truffle aioli saved!

Some other very yummy bits from Friday night’s hen do. Crab toasts with chilli, leek & fennel, fried artichoke hearts with a really delicious soft goats cheese from . Cote de boeuf, dauphinois (excellent chefs treat trimmings) followed by pistachio tiramisu x

We’re Springing Up! We’re back at Matt’s Kitchen for a Sunday lunch, and we’re borrowing at Spike Island in Bristol for a Friday dinner, inspired by our upcoming trip to Istanbul. The menu may well change a little if we find something fantastic on our travels but will probably look something like this!

We’re taking a £10 deposit per head to secure a booking and booking is essential, so get in touch!

Due to the nature of the event & kitchen, we will be able to cater for vegetarians (with pre warning), but no other dietary requirements.

Can’t wait to see you x

SEPTEMBER! We’ve got availability in one of the nicest months of the year we want to let you know about. September still has all the best summer produce (🍅🍅🍅) but with all the dreaminess of autumn produce and light - blackberries, golden sunshine, a bit of mist and of course all the puffballs we can find 🍄‍🟫

It’s not too late, get in touch xx

A very delightful spring weekend here at SK! A 50th birthday party with canapé galore followed by unctuous pulled pork, buttery mustardy mash and gremolata. Canapés were lemon and za’atar chicken lettuce cups with labneh & pom, teriyaki beef skewers, BBQ rump with chimichurri, and a little old confit tom, basil and mozz bruschetta.

Friday saw a dreamy tasting where we AGAIN didn’t take any pics of the main event! Low and slow smoked pork belly with charred peaches and basil 💥 but you can have a little look at the freshest Vietnamese summer rolls, the pinkest beetroot hummus, crunchiest lemony slaw and cuminy roasted beets & carrots!

Hope you’re all enjoying the sunshine x
